Lumintop has been known to do quite a bit of contract work and its pretty well known that they make the Beta for Prometheus. I didn’t know they manufacture the ReyLight, but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that. We know Rey doesn’t own his own factory so someone is making them for him. The LF2XT is quite different though, it was made by Liteflux, a Taiwanese company. They’ve been out of business for years now.

thanks. From what Ive read, the liteflux driver is totally different, and the lights have sold for as much as $650 each. otoh there are only so many ways to carve a bar of stock on a lathe, so I found the coincidences in exterior appearance between the pineapple and the liteflux fun to look at.

some Lumintop history from my recent experience, since 2015
Rey was the first to finance a Copper Tool Run with Nichia.

Lumintop followed with their own Copper Tools (both nichia and xpg2). Rey was the first to finance a run of Titanium Tools w Nichia, and again Lumintop followed with their own versions of the Ti Tool. (both nichia and xpg2)

here is a pic orginally from ven, showing the “new preon” clips on the tools.

I find the clips remind me of the darksucks titanium clip for the beta (although those dont fit the tools)
if anyone is interested in a Preon clip, they are still available on ebay

The Reylight versions w Nichia have 1 lumen lows and start on low, while the Lumintop versions w Nichia have 3 lumen lows and start on Medium.

current copper AAA Maratacs w Nichia also have the same drivers as the Lumintop Copper Tools w Nichia
heads are interchangeable

The latest Massdrop Copper tools w nichia and electronic switch, use a 219c, and have Low first, still 3 lumens

and a favorite lego, worm head on Maratac body, or on Ti3 body

I also expect Lumintop to follow w a copper AA Tool, but the PWM in the present version makes it a no-go for me. Same reason I did not buy the Copper AA Maratac. It also appears Lumintop will be moving to the 219c, which is brighter, but also greener than the 219b… good candidates for a swap to a special nichia from clemence, such as the sw45 9080!

fwiw, the Copper eTool is still available, though Im not a huge fan of the 219c, its a legoable tail and head

Yeah, some things there must be changed to make that a great flashlight! The form of the Tool AA is awesome, but the tint and the PWM…not so much. I hope they make it the right way if the go for “special versions” (copper included).

I am not familiarized with the Nichias, as I only have 1 or 2 lights light with those LEDs, but I hope they can make a good choice! Otherwise, it’s like you said, we’ll have to swap it

I doubt lumintop makes reylights, i have a cooper tool aaa and a pineapple mini they dont seem to be made from same factory…
