Couple of non-light related Christmas machining projects

I figured that posting a light I made should let me off posting some non-light stuff :)

Actually used the lathe to make something that wasn't more tooling for the lathe or mill, which was a refreshing change. I got these ideas off a couple of machining forums I frequent.

First is a present that the girls and I made for my wife. It's only 2 1/2in high, so no need to worry about anyone killing themselves with it :D

and a wine stopper for some friends. Mystery stainless (lab monkey bar) and a HF wire grommet for the seal. Irritatingly, it's a smidge too big for bubbly bottles although it works fine on normal wine. I'll remember that when I make us one!

back to normal programming soon, I'm currently working on a nice XM-L easy white screw in light for the garage!

Looks good.

Cool! Thanks for sharing!

Now get back to the light building.

Seriously they look real nice. Howd you go marking and drilling the holes?

thanks all! I'm going to have my lunch and finish off a light for the garage, using an XM-L easywhite that Ofroad'bent gave me ages ago, so there'll be a few more lights to be built :)

The holes were punched and then drilled by hand using a 1/16 bit and my hand drill. Not a lot of fun, but it came out ok in the end.

The tree business is a pretty neat project, and nice result.
