I'm not quite sure exactly why I had to do this to my Courui D01 to get it to throw, but it does now that's for darn sure. Its incredible what a couple millimeters of increased emitter depth inside the reflector make. I was just frustrated because I couldn't get rid of the donut, so I just started reaming till I could fit a 16mm Noctigon in there but by the time I stopped it could fit my 20mm that was already in it. Less work for me.. Several times brighter and throwier. I'm just shocked with the result. This is only with an XM-L2 U2 @~3.5 amps. Strongly recommended mod. This is one of those mods you know you did well when you can see moonlight mode 40ft away.
