Cree NW XM-L 3C or 3D bin T6 or 4A-D T5 on 16mm Star

Title basically says it all, want a NW XM-L in 3C or 3D in a T6 bin or 4A-D in T5 bin, either on a 16mm star. Looking to mod my 1A T6 Shining Beam P-Rocket to a NW light, am having a hard time finding any of these parts so hoping to find someone on here with one or someone who knows where to get one, either way. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I got some T6 3Cs from here last week they are very nice, someone put this link in your last post and you said you didn't want a 3C. These are very close to the 4Bs Shiningbeam was selling, but is out of right now.

Illuminationsupply has the 3Cs also but they are T5s.

Yea, I am considering the 3C after seeing your picture, just wonder if any place in the US sells them so I don't have to wait 3-4 weeks for it, lol.

The ones from IS are 5000k but you can get them in 20mm or 16mm.

You can get a true 4500k from LEDSupply.com on a 20mm star (easy to trim down to 16mm - I've done it with nippers and a hand file) and have them in 3 days, possibly 2.

And the contacts still have room? [quote=JohnnyMac]

Just scrape off a little of the paint covering the trace to expose enough copper to solder to.

And they are a nice tint... my fav as far as neutral XM-L's go.

If I could find a 16mm board I could order the LED by itself from Digikey, Arrow, Newark etc. and just find someone who could reflow it for me.

You could reflow it yourself it's really easy, just put the board on a frying pan, carefully place the emitter on it, heat over a low flame until the solder bubbles and turn off the heat.

I just bought the one from CNQG, based on the picture above 5000K isn't too bad and with my limited skills I would rather just get a 16mm board to begin with. Maybe I will still buy a warmer LED and desolder the 3C and replace it at some point.

Bose301s did you receive your led? How long did it take? How do you like it, is it a nice tint? Much green in it? Pinkish is fine by me but cannot stand really green. Digging up an old thread i know, but am trying to find a source of decent price neutral xml’s with nice daylight white tints. . Thanks.

I have a couple of those 5k neutral T6s from CNquality goods.

I’m very pleased with them. Tint is a nice light tan. Definitely neutral without a hint of green.

Thats good to know thank you. I think with me being in the uk these are the best…
