Looks like old XM-L generation, but die looks smaller compared to XM-L,maybe ~3mm2 ?

Obviously, specs of this led are far from new generations,so it seems this led is specifically "designed" for even cheaper ****fire flashlights?

Die size comparison(XM-L left,XM-K right):

That looks like something that some sellers will claim as a “real” XM-L…

Fills the gap between XM-L and XP-G.
But with the old design - maybe residues recycling…

So smaller die size means XM-L lumens in a tighter beam for a better thrower? Maybe a good option for small zoomie mods?

The other possibility is that the silicone dome is just shallower and does not distort the die image as much as the one that XM-L uses.

That's maybe possible, but if you look at max. current(2A) and output power(6-7W),smaller die seems more plausible. Also it's more logical if you consider cost reduction, smaller die-cheaper led, which probably was a goal with this led.

...But who says we can't push it to 4A and get a bit more brightness... 8)

The picture clearly shows the packaging saying “XM-K” (so not a typo) but I can’t find anything on Cree’s website. Also interesting, it says “Torch spec” so maybe cree is starting to design led’s specifically for flashlights? (assuming that label is genuine)

I thought Cree wasnt interested in the flashlight market, its just something that their LEDs are adapted for? Much like many li ion batteries.

?? Might indicate they are fakes ?? Supported by them being missing from Crees website.

I’m leaning towards fakes too, although cree apparently does make a “torch spec” xp-e2

Based on some Chinese sellers’ ads, it is intended to be a cheaper form of XML. They are marketing the led as “XML-lite”.

Just bumped into these here:

Looks like Lattice Bright “XML” though…

…or does it…?
