Yeah the knurling is pretty average. I left it until the last thing to do and I could not get the knurler in hard enough to do the job without things flying out of the chuck. Overal though I think it matches (no pun intended) the smooth look ok.

I like your “Wall of Light” better than the P60. I know there ar as many opinions as users of flashlights about what makes a good light… but what you show in the images of yours is what I personally like to see a light do. Great build!!

When you say lipo do you mean lifepo4? They are very different: one is very sage and the other is used in RC and often explodes.

I sure like those beamshots. Perfect for a EDC light which I reckon this one is made for. Great build. Sweet design. Great beam. What more can a guy ask for?? (More beamshots perhaps :-D )

Thanks scaru for pointing out my error in the batteries. It is a lifepo4. Is there a reason the flashlight only draws about half the current from it than the Lithium ion. Both types of lifepo4 I have draw pretty much the same 1.45 amps.

I think the main reason is a lifepo4 battery generally has a voltage of around 3.2-3.3, which is perfect for when direct driving an LED but with a buck driver the overhead could be to much so it only delivers a max of say 2.8v to the LED, then the LED can only draw so much current due to the low voltage.

It could also be related to lifepo4s not doing very well with high current, I just shorted one of mine and it only went up to 2 amps while a normal lion (not IMR) went up to 4.3 amps.

Ok. Ive spent far to long googling without any luck on finding anywhere (there seems to be a couple of main web sites down) to get these batteries to Australia for a reasonable price. I think they should be AW IMR 14500. Thanks.
