But that being said, I have purchased from 18650 Battery Store a few times & found them 100% reliable.
I will have no hesitation in buying from them again anytime.
They are completely reliable in their sales.

A question about your KennyBobby solder blobs. Will the “Brass shim” used in one of the batteries cause an excessive resistance footprint when compared to & used with the 3 batteries that do not have the brass shim in their blobs???

I mentioned that I had no issues with ordering basic items from their website. I still have no reason to order from them when I get way better customer service and I don’t have to pay for shipping from Liionwholesale.

Brass is a better electrical conductor than steel or solder. Silver or copper would make the best “shim” (thick washer), but i didn’t have any available to turn and drill on the lathe.

Building up 2.5mm of solder blob is not a typical soldering task, especially with the constraint of not putting any excessive heat into the top that might damage the gasket.

So my idea was to use a 2mm shim for the bulk, and then use solder to adjust the final desired length. It made for a broader and flatter “button” than just using solder.

One thing i wonder is why would a flashlight maker design a carrier that needed such long cells? The standard 18650 cell is 65mm. An easier and safer fix might be to add solder bumps to the carrier pads, just a thought.

On adding to the carrier —- You loose the polarity protection though —- I usually only add enough solder to make it a normal button top

Thanks for the explanation. Regarding the battery carrier. They’re big enough most likely for protected batteries. That is for my Ace beam x65 Mini.

It was modded by v54. In order to shorten the length so hydrain cells can fit , he puts solder blobs on the springs on one of my carriers and the other one has solder blobs on the positive button.

The photo I provided and the carrier that’s going to be used for these batteries, are the one with the solder blobs on the positive button.

I got the same one so I decided to call him and we patched things up.

I’m going to have him do a hundred of the Epoch p28b molicel rewraps and 500 of the Epoch p45b molicel rewraps! Probably Grade B.

I got that email as well.

The cells that are supposed to be $7.75 came up $8.00 for me.

Either way, I think the MOLICEL/NPE INR-21700-P42A 45A 4200MAH are more bang for the buck, plus I don't need any batteries at the moment.
