Custom convoy c8 build, easter egg surprise inside!

https://www.dropbox.com/sc/zxixlp3vcdicidk/AACxboL25e2xuOLxhFtA6AZBaHello guys! So I wanted to build a custom c8! So I ordered a nw xhp50 on a copper star, then I bought a cheap xhp50 driver, filed it down to fit, and did a resistor mod, so it now pushes 4,5 amps! Also got an orange peel reflector! Then I dedomed the xhp50 and stacked two gaskets to achieve the desired beam I was looking for! Tried it on some 18350's but battery life was garbage! So I robbed the tailcap of one of my scrapped lights, and... cut it up with my dremel, filed it smooth. Now I have my own homemade adapter to fit two c8 tubes together, and it worked! So now my xhp50 c8 has the capability of running 2x18650's! I know I could have bought extension tubes but they seem hard to find fornthe new c8's! And what is the fun of buying stuff when you can make it yourself! And for the final touch I polished the whole damn thing came out real nice, like a brushed look! What do you guys think? It still needs a bit of filing on the adapter part to make it look more uniform!

Nice! That light must push out some light!

What is the driver that you used and which resistor is modded?

yeah, however bought the xhp50 off aliexpress, so not sure if it’s real or not, the output seems low tbh
I would say about twice the amount of the xm-l2, but since they are the same form factor, the beam and spill are roughly the same! I still think it must be over 2000 lumens easily!

Thanks for the links. Impressive that you managed to trim the 22mm driver so that it fits the C8 !

it’s pretty easy to make them fit actually just take a dremel or file/sand it down until you have maybe 0,5mm left of the ground ring just make sure it’s relatively even!

what do you think of my ghetto diy extension adapter though?

Looks awesome! :+1:
