Custom/DIY/stock P60 run 2x CR123a, lots of modes?

I’m new here but I’ve been on CPF for years and lurking here for the last year.

I posted this on CPF but I’m not getting much traction there.

Seems to be a lot of DIY/modder info here so I’m hoping you folks can help.

I had posted this in the custom builder section but didn’t find exactly what I was looking for so I’m considering going the DIY route if the components are available.

Since I live in a very cold climate I rely heavily on CR123a cells. I daily carry with an 18650 but all my backups are CR123a cells.

What I’d like to build:
Drop in with amps suitable for 2x CR123 or 1x 18650
Single, Triple, or Quad LED
Multiple modes, possibly sble to program the module to change modes a big plus

I enjoying working with electronics and think I’d like building my own modules, it seems the driver may be hard to find since most are setup for 18650 use and not 2xCR123a use.

Any help is most appreciated.

I have become a huge fan of the new style KaiDomain dropings. They are 3-9 volt and work well. The shell is great for modding, worth the price as a starting point.

They don’t meet main requirement - 2xCR compability. You have 0.8-0.9v per cell when it is empty. They are not so cheap that you can trough away 50% full cells.

I think BLF is suitable place for such posts. Here you can meet crazy modders who change boost-buck driver in their zebralight to FET one. So, you just need to make a post in wtb thread and find some of this brand 2x-cr compatible drivers (hope they were not recycled and somebody have saved one for you).

I contacted KaiDomain and was told their drop ins cannot be run on two CR123a batteries at 6V even though it’s within the voltage range listed.

Bumping my own old post, still on the search for more 2x CR123a capable drop-ins. Multiple modes plus memory. Custom built? I’ve got a custom from Pflexpro that is awesome, just curious of any other options.

Curious what ones I’m missing, especially interested in anyone still offering custom built drop-ins specifically 2x CR123a compatible. Malkoff does but I’m looking for multiple modes and I’ve read conflicting feedback on their multi mode switching. Sportac offer a two mode which doesn’t have a low enough low. There used to be more custom builders I thought? I am a little late to the P60 party.

You might wanna look at the SporTac 2-mode XHP35 HI. It has a working range of 2.7-9.0V.
That means: 2 x CR123A, or 1 x 18650, or 2 x 18350 (if the host is reamed to 18.6mm, of course).
