Custom parts for flounder light

I love checking out this website, my most recent purchase is the Convoy L6 (what a monster). Another favourite is the BLF/Eagle Eye A6, I like everything about it the wide throw, brightness, compactness and most of all price!

I am wanting to convert this for underwater use for floundering/prawning (gigging) without creating an entirely new flashlight (I tried to do with pvc and failed). As it is rated at IPX8 up to 2 meters simply sticking under the water shouldn’t be a problem, however I want to slightly modify it so that it is on a pole with the battery on the unsubmerged end and light on the other, this would make it easy to change batteries and operate the switch. I was thinking of using a length of 10mm aluminium tubing would be ok with a 12 gauge wire running through it for the positive (this should keep voltage drop to a minimum).

My question is how hard would it be to get some threaded adapters made for the torch to attach to a threaded tube? Can custom parts be ordered online? Is there a minimum order required?

I can manage it tap a 10mm tube externally with rubber seals but I can’t do inner thread and I don’t to order the long tubes due the length would make it too expensive to post.

It would be good if I could also upgrade to another tube in future with 2 cells in series with suitable driver.

Thanks!

OK, so I had a think about it and I do not have machinery to fabricate my own parts and think it may be too much trouble to build special parts for a few lights.

My plan now is to buy 1 flashlight and 1 host, cut the host and weld in some 18mm aluminium tubing. Like this https://www.dropbox.com/s/hnct8taw4jk9lqh/sample.jpg?dl=0

If anyone can provide some advice it would be much appreciated.

Thanks
