I have a strange problem… My brass D4V2 aux lights work perfectly with my 18650 tube, but with both my brass and titanium 18350 tube they do not. The light otherwise functions perfectly in the 18350 tubes. Battery is fully charged. I have reset the light multiple times with each method. I have cleaned the contact points on the light and all tubes. Any ideas for next step?
What is it they’re doing that’s not correct?
They do not activate, aux or button when 18350 tube is used. New behavior today, never had this issue prior.
Do the regular leds work normally other than the aux?
Yes, as I said in OP, the light is functioning normally otherwise.
Have you turned them on using 7 clicks?
Yes, I have done the full cycle with the 18350 tube installed. I get the confirmation blink, then the aux and button stay unlit through the entire cycle. Switch back to 18650 and the aux light is exactly where I expect it to be. Everything functions 100% as expected with either tube, unfortunately with the shorty on, no more aux or backlight on the button. I am completely perplexed.
What says the battcheck with the two non working tubes?
First of all sorry for bad English.
You said your batteries are fully charged. Can’t be it a problematic 18350 battery which can not store enough energy, and your aux led setted to show battery voltage level? With 18650 it shows the actually level but with the bad 18350 the battery level is critical, and it means the aux leds are in off state.
Just thinking.
Thanks Kiki,
Turns out ‘problematic 18350’ is the winner. Placed in the charger I normally use for small cells it shows full. Moved to another charger with live voltage readout, it alternates between 4.2v and 2.8 volt, strangely the voltage swings wildly while moving the cell around in the charger. Finally found a spot it wants to accept more charge. Will report back if I end up with a fire or a functioning cell.
