Hello everyone, just discovered this forum — looks like a great community!
I’m working on a custom extension tube for my Emisar D4V2 to add USB-C charging mid-body. I need to machine the tube to match the existing body threads but can’t find the exact specs anywhere.
I’ve seen M12x0.75 mentioned online but that came from an AI summary so I don’t really trust it. The thread profile also looks trapezoidal rather than standard 60° metric — is that correct? Does anyone know:
Major/minor diameter
Pitch
Thread form (metric, ACME, proprietary?)
I’d measure mine but my calipers are too coarse to accurately measure the thread dimensions at this scale. Has anyone done a similar mod or made a custom tube for the D4V2, or have a thread gauge handy?
I don’t know about this threads ! But a lot of “good” flashlights they have “square threads”, and some of them are are “naked” without any color, and some others they have anodized the color of the flashlight one then !
I don’t know if you can find an already made extension tube that fits, or you can make one in a mechanic shop with lathe, or with a cnc … !? And how expensive will be… !?
Thanks a lot for the links and the warm welcome!
I’ll try to nail down the thread dimensions with a 3D printed test fit first, and if that doesn’t work out I’ll have to sweet-talk a machinist with beer
