DC-Fix Results.

Saw Boaz’s thread on DC-Fix DC-Fix Diffusion Film Sale and thought I would try some of it out on a few lights I have with just god awful beams. See if I could make them at least half way usable around the house. Stuff works really well. I got one of those Nitenumen C8’s off of Amazon. The UI is awful which is fine because so is the beam. I tried to fit a OP reflector in it but I didn’t really have one that fit right and the light wouldn’t really seal back up with the one I was trying. I swapped back in the original reflector and put the DC-Fix on the lens. That really made it a nice walking around beam that wouldn’t have me pulling my hair out. The light isn’t really a pocket rocket anyway and never even really gets hot on high so it’s a great light for the kids and wife to use outside and around the house and even has on board charging and it came with a decent cell. If only the damn disco modes were hidden. Anyway, here is a before and after.

I have a few more lights I am going to try it on and will happily post the photos if anyone is interested in them.

pretty amazing difference, loss of about 3% lumen output I’m told.

Great result! I just ordered some of this myself and I’m looking forward to trying it out.

That’s what I was told as well. I was willing to sacrifice that output to get rid of that beam and make it more bearable.

putting this stuff on a window while standing on an extension ladder was no picnic, very hard to get it on straight

It looks worse in person lol, couldnt get all the air bubbles out, I have a smoothing tool but this was a tough first attempt, gotta admire the professional decalers

I think working with 2 smaller strips and applying vertically instead of 1 big sloppy sheet applied horizontally is the way to go if anyone is gonna use on their windows. this particular window blasts me with sun while i’m sleeping at certain times of the year and I hope this prevents that.
