Dead driver replacement Conundrum

Hi Guys, a good friend bought a nice quality 12 LED flashlight, after a very short while the driver has died, The 6 batteries are 2S3P, and the 12 Leds are 2S6P, I told him I could fix it easily  , but i`m stuck as to which driver?? …the LED V. and battery V. are very close!!
Thanks for any input

…, …
… … the driver originally had 2 toroid inductor coils on it,

What brand are those batteries? Looks like *fire batteries.

What does the other side looks like?

batterys double checked all tested 100%
the other side of the driver is just flat contact pads,

Thanks

Do not expect any decent output using Ultrafire cells, besides they are dangerous due so many reasons.

And dont use them in series!(!!!)

About that driver, on the back side is there some text?
NVM, looks like it is this light?

Can’t find anything….

Sometimes you just have to tell a person they made a bad choice that can’t be fixed up.
Cells in series, even if they were good quality, and what kind of charger? Not real promising.

Can you convince him that a smaller and better light — say an X6 or an A6 — and a known good charger and cells, would a be better way to get what he seems to want?

yep, nearly identical, thanks for the link
and note the ``Leds in 2 channels`` comment?
If i can`t get the same driver, there is a lot of room to piggy-back another one in there

Yeah. The output can't be decent in no way first because of those cells are garbage (interesting how one most people think it is "enough for me") and the driver can't be a big deal. There is always the chance of fake LEDs. Let's say a better driver it is found, what is the point with those dangerous and weak cells which wont allow any serious output.

Hank's suggestion is pretty good about a better light.

What about this one?

Not a driver expert so you might want to wait for another one’s opinion.
