Thought I would pas this on. I placed an order with DealExtreme 8/18 at 3:34PM. They didn't ship it until 8-24. Now to me that tells me they won't be getting anymore of my business.

I placed an order on 8/10 and it still hasn't gone out! I contacted them and they got back to me quickly enough..one 3$ item wasn't available, so I had them change the item..but they just let the order sit for weeks without notifying me or anything..I definitely buy elsewhere if at all possible..
That's only 6 days, I've got an order with MF that has been processing now for 8 days. So where are you going to order from? Chinese companies all process orders slowly, I think most don't even have the item in-stock until after you place an order and pay for it, then they place an order with the factory.
Manofont is not much better. Placed an order on the 20th of this month and they shipped it out on the 25th.
But like the guy said that is normal for Chinese companies.
But I will take my normal money elsewhere.
I think the problem is that ILIKEFLASHLIGHTS usually orders from (China or Hong Kong) ebay retailers most of whom ship the very same day or the day after. Therefore to him a six day wait before shipping seems massive.
I have to say that I too tend to order from the better ebay suppliers if possible for that very reason. I know the ones I trust and they tend to be my first choice.

Anyone that takes this long to ship and that includes on ebay won't get my money in the future if I can help it.

What I do to avoid problems like that, is to place all separate orders. Example, I want batteries and a flashlight. I will order the flashlight only, wait a few minutes and then go back and place another order for the batteries. This has worked well for me, I've had the flashlight show-up and then a whole week later the batteries finally arrived, that shows me they probably didn't have the batteries in-stock when I placed the order. So had I ordered batteries & flashlight together, the order would have sat there an entire week before going out.
This is also not limited to Chinese companies though, batteyjunction has NEVER shipped an order out for me the next day as they advertise. It always takes them almost an entire week to place a flashlight into a box with a label on it and physically mail it. They are a USA based company, I only order from them IF they are the only ones that have what I'm looking for.
The website will show an item in-stock and ships next day, yet I've never had them actually do anything other than charge your credit card that fast, not actually physically ship out until 4-5 days later; that has been my experience for the past 2+ years with them, some places just don't get what good customer service really is.
Yes I have my favorite ebay sellers too in China that actually ship out the very next day, love them; I also have a few companies I really like in the States that will ship out the same day if you order before a certain time; now they certainly know what good customer service is and I always look to them first to see if they have the product I'm looking for first, before placing an order elsewhere.
Well I try to split the orders too and place a order for each item... Empirically I receive small packages a lot faster than the big ones... Could be customs related... And on the other site, you dont have to wait if a item is out of stock for the complete order...
I also love ordering on ebay.. because most seller really ship next day... but not all!! They set status to sent... but If you check tracking afterwards, you see that sometimes they ship 1-2 weeks later!! Even the "big stores" ... Just right now I have such a case...
On the other hand... my last dealextreme order took ~12 days from "order received" to "shipped"
DX does seem to be getting worse; my most recent order was submitted on 8/5 and the order is still pending at the "order received" step. Unfortunately, DX has a lot of parts and hardware that MF doesn't have so I end up having to buy from them.
that's a good idea..I will try placing small individual item orders..
DX is the worst at long shipping times, But KiaDomain is second slowest and just behind DX. But MF is usually a 3-4 day wait which is fast by normal Chinese shipping.
My issue lately has been with KD and them not showing my orders under my account number and i have no way of knowing if or when it ships and i usually forget what the heck i even ordered. They keep telling me im not logged into my account when i place the order, But ive made sure that i was every time.
I've had that happen on a few occasions. And I even have KD specifically whitelisted, so they actually get to set all the cookies they want, they get the real REFERER header, etc.
I'm back to avoiding KD if I can find the stuff I want somewhere else.
It is the Chinese ghost month this august and it may have an effect on commerce. anyway hope everything gets back
to a quicker phase when september kicks in.
I stop buying on DX. Exists thousands another shops.

DX has a huge selection and low prices.
See my search engine. This is small part of all sites like DX have similar service and prices. 
6 days slow? That was fast, dammit! (for being DX)
True. And that's about average as far as Chinese stores go. Shipping notifications are one thing, but telling me that something has shipped doesn't really do me any good. That's why I care about door-to-door, because, well, talk is cheap. ;)
Oh, and for the record, DX has been awfully slow lately. At least in my experience.
