Hi all , I got a PM from dealmetic asking if they could do ZeusRay give a way, and Vince also mentioned they wanted to release another version of the C8, which I told him this market is over saturated with the C8 for so again any one have anything else I could steer them to? I really can’t see another C8 making a big impact or improvement over the xtinds or Convoys.
How about a new Jacob A60, its always been popular and just recently has been making another resurgence, plus look at the new $140 olight factory dedomed light, its pretty much a high quality version of the A60.
Hi LJ, as an improvement, can you please ask if default driver on zeusray or future lights can be reprogrammed?
Currently it’s 100% - 50% - 25%. They’re all very bright, practically one-mode. But runtime is short and you can’t use it as constant lighting at camping etc.
Personally, I think 100–35–5% is the best spacing for most use.
Let’s wait and see if we can convince them to sell us
— the hosts, and
— the pills
for the Dealmetic zoomie, as a thankyou to those who helped them get it together so far as they’ve gotten it.
I’d love to get started really improving the zoomie.
I’d love to have them listen to folks here who have great ideas.
Dealmetic folks — a suggestion — sell/give us the host form — just the light, no driver, no emitter, no switch, just the case — first next time??
People will work hard to improve on this stuff for you.
And will remember the aim is to figure out something for you that is
— wildly popular
— cheap to make
— a light you can sell for a nice fat profit.
Meanwhile, give us the hosts and while working on that we can also make much better lights out of them.
Whatever you want to sell — strip out the parts, sell/give folks here the host bodies, and stand back, it’ll grow fast.
Just sayin’
Dealmetic venturing into another C8 design? I think that it’s a bad idea , this is what they sent me this morning: hi, do you know if we want to have give away sample for review (ZEUSRAY FL05518), which forum should we post to? do not want to break the forum rules. thx
we will have a new model coming up hopefully late of this month, it is a EDC flashlight without zoom, the finishing is good, can you do a review for us by that time?
it similar to this

we will use L2 Led, price will be a little high by now, do you know what price range customer may accept and think it is a good deal?
thank you for all the question.
And I have tried getting them to improve the ZeusRay and that hasn’t gone anywhere but I’ll try again .
@ Hank: Just a FYI: For every modder there are 100+ customers not able/willing/interested in modding. So where is the big idea in that for a store owner?
Just sayin'
What about a Courui D01 type light with 6 batteries, 2s3p setup, but same or bigger class reflector. But make the pill big and thick in it and make it with side switch also. Maybe also tailcap clicky. But must be able to lock out on the battery tube.
Just look at the Courui thread. A lot of people are buying that although the led shelf is poorly thought out, is known to have big machine marks and thread in crappily when flipped over in order to avoid the machine marks.
But give us the 2s3p setup for overhead voltage and a buck driver. Then we can set up a hardcore, high amp driver for the xm-l2/xp/g2 and a blf17DD w. zener mod for the Mt-G2 lighs.
Maybe use the three mode 5 amp driver that lck-led sells or at least something similar.
And at all cost avoid gimmicky stuff like plugs for charging the light with the batteries in it. It will be hard to do right in a 2s lights and if skimped on the electronics it may even be dangerous.
> Just look at …. But give us …. Maybe use
If they are willing to provide hosts, folks here will try all those variations, and test and compare them.
Yeah, the builders will have to price things out.
But good quality doesn’t have to be all that much more expensive than cheap — as long as someone (like the folks here) does the research and design for free.
People are doing it anyhow — but given hosts up front early on, that kind of effort could inform the sellers before they commit to what they are going to build.
They might learn something to their profit.
This thread to Dealmetic so they can see themselves but one last time I want to make sure of? We don’t want any more c8 variants rivht? Or am I wrong?
C8 is uninteresting to me. No doubt they are very affordable and some are powerful in stock (e.g TangsFire). However, they are not really collector grade. Glad that I have sold all mine.
How bout one of those chunky 4 aa lights, they seem to be popular now
looks This link to Vince from Dealmetic and let’s see what they sayIt like they come hell or high water make their version of a C8
Just informed me that the C8 is. Coming out no matter what so what do you guys think of a xpg2 or xpg5 model? And driven at what amperage and driver?
I like ledsmoke’s idea. Perfect for a triple MTG2.
I tried talking Vince away from the C8 and try either MTG2 or a larger xml2 thrower but he said dealmetic is going to make a C8 come hell or high water.
Guess they will not have our money then.
Next better player please...

Hi Vince .well this model (c8 design is very common) and to be honest it is a light that is too common and the flashlight market is flooded with this style, my honest opinion is not to make this model , their are hundreds of these models out there and I don’t think it would sell very well perhaps a larger version that held two to three batteries with a deeper reflector and had a longer beam distance .Also I ordered two ZeusRay flashlights two weeks ago and they were back ordered could you let me k ow
n when they might ship to me , Juan Rudy Verdin Hc70 box 3879. Sahuarita Az 85629 As far as you doing a give away I don’t think it’s a problem and you should be able to do oi. Best of luck lightjunkie

Dealmetic.com 11/12/2014 - 03:56 Delete Block
yes, this is vince, your order was post Nov 10, tracking number LK072438290HK.
zeusray are working different model out now, the one like C8 is one of the common light they need in their series, and it is the first light coming up early next month i guess, so right now is grouping up suggestion before the finial product come up, will give the advice of the reflector to them, but what kind of price range you think is easy to accept and try out in the market u think?
You 11/12/2014 - 08:16 Delete
I honestly don’t think it a a good idea to sell this c8 everybody has them here and no one wants to but another C8 please don’t male another C8 o don’t think they will sell well

Also Vince you can ask the member la of the forum yourself what they think about another C8 light I would hate to see you make one and it not sell I am trying to help you .Sincerely Rudy
Dealmetic.com 11/12/2014 - 22:14 Delete Block
thx, understand that. i had already give this info to them. will see how they would come up, since they said for the brand will need a EDC light in series, they are making 8-10 light now, because of the C8 is the most easy one to come up, so it will be the first light out. any idea you think is good to add into our light on other verison? what is the major things you may look in? outlook design, pricing, or the driver which use?
You 11/12/2014 - 22:32 Delete
I would say a Xml2-u3 2 group , 5mode, which h means in the first mode it has low at 5% medium at 50% and high 100% with no strobe or so and then in second mode low 5% medium 25 % high100% then strobe and sos both at 100% driven with 3.5 –4.00 amp Nanjing 105 C driver with the xml2-u3 emitter on a 20 mm noctigon pure copper pad and the pillar pure copper or brass with a deep smooth reflector and the se on model would be a XPG5 emitter on 20 mm copper Noctigon pad driven at 2.5 amps to 2.8 amps with the same modes and drivers at the first light I discussed earlier in this response a d I would say if you made these lights as I mentioned you could get 17.00-20.00$ usd.

How about a reflector version of the Zeusray zoomy we have been buying? Same driver, pill, tube and size. With a fixed head and SMO reflector or even better a fixed focus TIR to keep the overall length down.
