Since they don't make diffusers for the TN31 or the TN30 I decided to make my own.
My wife works for a local charity which specialises in Arts & Crafts so there's always plenty of stuff lurking around for these little projects :D
First attempt was with some frosted Acrylic sheet. This was a failure as the frosting didn't diffuse the beam enough and I didn't really want to double it up so to lose too much light output.
So today Mrs Spas comes home with some White Acrylic sheet. Even though it was white, it was only about 1.5mm in thickness and it diffuses the hotspot perfectly.
So, without further ado, work began. The first one I made was for the TN30, which uses a circle cut to the exact diameter of the head with Neoprene glued around the sides.
It was 'Okay' but not brilliant but worked well. So I thought I would try to do a better job of the next one.
So I proceeded to make the second one... Of course, the head on the TN31 is bigger and of course the Neoprene I had wasn't long enough for the circumference.
Hmmmm... guick look in the wife's bundle of goodies and I found some ORANGE foam lol I thought 'what the heck' I know it's going to look bad with Orange but I'll give it a go..
Now I'm glad I used Orange foam, it won't be to everyone's taste but I actually like it :D
Here's some pics. I'll do some beamshot comparisons a little later, probably tomorrow.
I give up on trying to edit posts on this forum. Pictures to follow in separate post
