DIFFUSERS - IDEAS AND PICS FOR DIFFERENT SIZE LIGHTS

HOME MADE, ONES BOUGHT, ANY TYPE

pics, or ideas

thanks

PM DrJones for some DC-Fix .

Fits any light .

Medicine and vitamin bottles, depending on if you like using your light on high or low, choose the white ones, or brownish clear ones, and cut a hole in the cap, after heating them in hot water to remove the labels.

Roll a piece of white paper into a tube around the head and pop a rubber band around it, for a ‘one-timer’. Works in a pinch.

Any matte kind of clear contact paper works well for subtle diffusion/beam softening and still projects light really well.

great ideas

I have been eyeing off the matte semi opaque whitish plastic our two and three litre milk bottles are made from. Some have caps made of similar material.

Looks like good diffuser material to me. Haven’t tried it yet though.

^Holy crap, how could I miss that Pura/Harvey Fresh/Brownes goodness!

I think there are some round 1 litre ones too, which might make nice camping light diffuser shades. They would be a better size too. Must have another look in the supermarkets.

Cheap ones here

I bought one of the larger ones above for the EA4.

I also bought a cheap 39.5mm Fenix one from BIC to see if it fits on the 40mm EA4.

Roll up a light in tissue paper ,add a rubberband and twist the end .

an inverted styrofoam cup with a translucent lid still on it turns into a little lamp ..i actuallly like a small carry out style bowl they give you for sauces ,cole slaw ?? etc

coffee creamer bottles ,caps off of medicines ,water bottle caps .pill bottles ,white film canisters ..lots of opaque diffuser materials can be found in lots of sheets of material usually with a texture to it ...if you keep ypur eyes open it's everywhere . ofice supplies etc .

Opaque? Sorry, don't understand how this will diffuse light. I don't mean to sound like a smart-arse even though I am being one, but do you mean translucent, my dear Sir?

have a couple of different opaque sheets of material behind the plastic plate used to light up the screen. Interesting stuff each sheet seems to have different optic properties. I think it is to reflect and distribute the light coming from the ccfl.

I like these ideas

Got a white toothbrush holder where one half fits great over a minimag or SK68 and the other half fits some similar sized lights.
