dimming flashlight

Hi,
I have been a flashaholic for years, but am wondering if my charger is letting me down.
When fully charged so light goes from red to green on my Trustfire TR001 charger with my Ultrafire BRC 18650 cells and my AW 18650 cells it only seems to shine awsomely for around 30 seconds.
It is exactly the same with both cells and the few other ones I have, I suspect they are not being charged fully, the AW reads 4.21V after charging, I used the Ultrafire for around 3 minutes of use after which it read 4.11V.
I note they say 3.7V, they seem not to be undercharged, another thought was are they being damaged by over charging, so appear good on the multi with no load on but drop as soon as load(torch)is applied.
The torch is a Ultrafire V6-T60, of apparently 900 lumens ?
Thoughts and comments from peeps more experienced with li-lion cells would be very much appreciated, thanks
tabetha

The brc cells likely will struggle, I have some and won’t use them in anything other than a q5 low drain light, asap they will get retired.

The aw cells are more of a mystery, I was under the impression they were pretty good cells, I assume your measuring voltage with a meter.

Do you have other lights to test the cells in? It could be something in the light rather than the cells - heat sag due to emitter mounting/heat sinking issue, switch not handling current etc.

Too bad your so far south of me, but there’s a few members down there, maybe you could hook up to try a few things.

Hi Gords1001,
Thanks for the response, I too was under the impression AW were dogs danglies, but they are not any better.
I’m using a digi multi metre to test voltage, not in the charger but after taking out, I’m thinking it’s the torch tbh, I have other lights I could test the cells in but they are all rated much lower lumens wise.
I’ve just ordered some panasonic so will see how they go, but I suspect I will be swapping out the driver, I recently ordered a Fandyfire UV-S5 so hoping it will be here before x mas, if royal fail don’t lose it!!
I’m not aware of anyone in my area who is into lights like me, and Wigan is a long way away!!
I’m not really that fussed this side of x mas, but defo want to get them sorted for new year ghost hunting around east anglia.
Thanks for response,

Hmmm , ok now ! Variables ... There nasty things they are ...

Lets see ... Im trying to make sense of what you wrote ..

AW if it starts at 4.21 and after a few minutes on high reads 4.11 volts , then that sounds about right depending on the VARIABLES !

As for the light running awesome for 30 seconds and then dimming [ is this right ? ] Then its an issue with the light and not batteries .
