No, this won’t happen. The Convoy C8s have reverse polarity protection.

Anodizing on the tailcap threads - tailcap side threaded into head? If the tubes don’t thread in far enough to contact the pill, then that would keep it from working… :smiley:

In your pics, I see the lip inside the head is anodized as well, so the machined aluminum lip on the tailcap side of the tube doesn’t have a conductive surface to seat against…

Do you mean by “make it not function (while the polarity is reversed)”? If the battery polarity is corrected, it should work again, right?

Yes… that is my understanding. Inserting the cell backwards just causes it to be inoperative, doesnt short out the driver or emitter… switch the battery back around, light works.

Like putting the batteries in wrong in your remote control for the tv…
