Do you buy Ugly lights for parts or for the thrill of the hunt?

I just bought an Ugly light, at least to me it’s ugly and it ended up being cheap and cheap is good.

I have no idea what the model # really is, nor do I know if it is a legitimate Trustfire. But let’s face it “They are all Clones of something”
I got it because it included 3 batteries and 2 single chargers (yeah I know, need 3 chargers:)
Anyway, I know the batteries are not top notch. However they are not that bad and have not been proven to be unsafe in my experience.
It is just nice to have more batteries on hand so lights can be ready to go and not have to swap batts so often.
And who knows, it may have a rocking drop in of a good reflector that I can cobble into another cheap light and make it better.

I mean for $19.38 I will have spare parts if nothing else and “Part is Parts!”

What have You bought for parts?

LOL, why can’t it be a purchase for both reasons?

But I try to do it when they are very cheap - That UF MCU $10 group buy light was a keeper for the car since mine ran on 2 CR123s and is wicked bright thrower at 6v.

Just bought the $5 KD special for clip/lanyard parts with the light still being good for a battery holder and/or backup light.

Edit: That is a fugly light, might have started out as an adult item.

Really good deal on the light.

Personally I might keep the batteries but only use them on single-battery light. And the chargers - I have 2 similar charger, both blown by themselves and tend to overcharge over 4.2V (when they were alive). Not recommended.

Yeah, I have no intention of using the chargers.
I have a Sysmax Nitecore I4 for that.
The batteries will only be used as singles as you suggest.
I am curious as to the driver and reflector more than anything.
