I want to know if you guys actually test the waterproof nature of your flashlights.
Today I chucked my TN31 and my V11R into the bath and left them running for about an hour just to see if they were up to the task.
Suffice to say they are fine but its always good to test them
Not every light, only a few (my EDC, a XTAR WK35 for a review and some others).
I’ve taken some of my smaller lights with me when I swim, and they’ve all been fine.
They are well cleaned and lubed before though, so that probably helps a lot.

Tossed my BC10 in the bath tub a few months ago.
Once I thought flashlights are watertight.
Then, I tried 3 of them a bit differently…
Run them first hot on the table, then dip ’em in the water…

I verified that my ITP A3 is waterproof….
by accidentally running it through the washing machine :-).
I put my ITP A3 through the washer and dryer several times . Still works great .
i dont dunk mine. dont want to risk ruining them. they never really get exposed to significant water anyway during use
I keep my flashlights dry.

I only really test or swim with my P60 lights. That way if they do leak I don’t ruin an unreplaceable reflector. If the P60 lights leak I just put a new module in. Also the only other lights I’ll really let go into water are my cheapy’s like my Uniquefire G10 or Trustfire TR-801 because they’re super cheap also. Never had any of mine leak though because I keep the o-rings in good lubed condition and replace them if they’re damaged.
What’s really surprising is one of my friends has a house with a hot tub and it has broken lights so if he uses it at night it’s pitch black. The easiest fix is to just get one of my more powerful XM-L P60 lights and turn it on and throw it in. It’s actually bright enough to light up the whole hot tub and lasts half the night, if it dims I just replace it with a backup battery.

My Olight S10 has been used as a bike light in heavy rain, and washed after using it to change the brakes on my van in the dark. It got covered in brake dust.
I also oil tested(by accident) my Solarforce L2M. I was changing the oil on the car and drowned the L2M. It cleaned up nicely, and still works perfectly.
Does dropping them in the toilet count? What about being barfed on by a cat?
If light is said to be waterproof then Im always rinsing them with warm tap water with soap before I start to use them 
None has died this way, some have had some water under lenses or around threads.
Havent done anything more serious or dunked them IRL.
I only test lights I expect to use underwater (eg. fishing).
Only the branded lights that claim to be waterproof. Gives me a possible reason to return them if I find water in them. I have tested the L2P and L2T, but only because they have expensive pills in them and I redid/added o-rings from stock.
The only light that failed the test (at stock) was an EagleTac M3C4. After relubing EVERYTHING it did turn out waterproof. But I slightly stripped a hex screw in the process. :~
Done it once or twice, but think about why you would want to run a test like that on your light...
I recently had a watch battery installed, and when the jeweler was putting it back together, he stated that he would "pressure test" it underwater for a $5 fee.
So if I pay the $5 fee and it fails, uh, do you replace it?
He didn't do the test. One of the laws of nature; if the practical results are the same one way or the other, don't do the test.
