Hello, the S4 plus manual states that the capacity test of the charger can only be used as a preliminary reference. If you want more accurate data, it is recommended to purchase professional instruments
I think most cylindrical lithium-ion chargers on the market cannot achieve high-precision testing, which is related to cost, including internal resistance testing. Some data may be higher, while others may be lower. HKJ has tested many chargers, and for the same battery, there may be some differences in the test capacity of each charger
Professional equipment with four wire testing method provides more accurate voltage and current accuracy, ensuring the accuracy of testing
Thank you for your attention and suggestions from everyone at BLF. I have recorded all of them. The new chargers have some technical difficulties and a long research and development cycle, which is expected to take a long time. Two LCD chargers are about to be released, and I will introduce them in the BLF advertising area in a while
We will also find ways to improve the capacity accuracy of the charger. Thank you everyone
The ideal charger for me would be standard four bay with all the bells and whistles but in addition would have a magnet type charging cable for all those odd ball battery sizes coming out today (46950 etc.) The external cable would charge and discharge the battery with all the capabilities of the charger. It would act as a ā5thā bay but it would be external.
That would be even better. Being able to charge 4695 would be great. These bigger batteries arenāt going away. More and more lights will come with them.
I wish SkyRC would upgrade their MC3000 to 100mm bays. Right now, it can only go up to unprotected, flat top 21700ās. I think that the 26800 and 2680/4695 will be more common, so 100mm bays would be enough for at least the next 2-3 years I guess
DoesnĀ“t fit to this topic, please ask Skyrc about it.
But I have the Skyrc Newsletter and ask them about new chargers some time ago, it seems to be that Skyrc is atm only interested for RC-chargers, not for Round Cell chargers. Their last Round cell chargers were NiMH only.
Vapcell seems to be more interested in developing chargers we want.
Maybe Skyrc have more customers in the RC-area? And Vapcell more in the Flashlight-area?
I donĀ“t think itĀ“s very complicated to design a new charger-case, but like I wrote the Focus of Skyrc seems to be in the other area. I see it in the newsletter, except the NC2500 Pro all other news were RC-charger.
TBH, I still wonder that Skyrc have made the MC3000. All other round cell chargers from Skyrc I know are NiMH-only. And TBH, my two Skyrcs (NC1500, NC2200) have nice features and performance, but get easily beat by the Vapcell in charging, especially with problematic NiMH cells.
Hey guys, late to the partyā¦ I decided to keep my S4 at my other house and I was hoping theyād released the new model, but I canāt seem to find it anywhere.
Whatās the best of the best high end charger these days?
The 4950 batteries look insane! I hadnāt heard of theseā¦
I asked SkyRC about it, they said they had no plans to update the MC3000 with longer slots (even a few mm). I told them I have 21700 flat tops that did not fit (Vapcell F56) and they were like āoh wellsā.
This thread started in 2022 ā¦ is the ānew vapcell chargerā the S4 V3? Or something else entirely?
@vapcell_Dennis one feature I like from my Gyrfalcon-All44 is that the current I select for each slot is memorized until the unit is unplugged. For example, I have slot 1 @ 500 mA, and slots 2-4 @ 1A. Its nice to have manual, but also not have to press anything if I keep charging the same batteries the same way.
But IĀ“m not sure how many customers need or want it
This topic is for (two) upcoming chargers, one High-End (like Skyrc MC3000) and something in midrange similar like the S4 Plus, maybe with LiFePO4-support and bigger slots for longer cells (Details are missing). And IĀ“m not sure what special features are included in the midrange-charger to make the developing so problematic as Dennis mentioned. I would agree with this statement:
IĀ“m not Dennis, but I know what you mean. My 2 Skyrcs also remember the settings for each slots till it gets unplugged, my Powerex MH-C9000 Pro even after it was unplugged.
Indeed nice feature if you using similar cells often, but not an absoluty must, at least for me.
