Hello every one

I want to buy a good 4x 18650 power bank that able to give 2A to my phone

I have read the talented HKJ’s Review about this TOMO M4

but i felt he wasn’t very happy about it, and i am making an order from Gearbest that is why i am asking is there is a power bank better than the TOMO M4 at GearBest ?

question in other way should i buy the TOMO M4 ?

I don’t know about TOMO, never had one, so I’ll just share my experience with the 4*18650 powerbanks that I have used.
Soshine E3S: It melted on the first weekend I over-used it (charge->discharge non stop). And started smelling… And stopped working…
Epilot E4: Has survived without a hiccup for two weekends until now, same use, charge -> discharge -> repeat for the most part of each day.
I would buy Epilot again, but not Soshine.

I have a couple of M4’s and have been happy with them. The LCD display provides a lot more info than most other power banks with just 3 or 4 LEDs. I can leave 4 cells in it for a few months and is still usable. The M3 on the other hand, drained the cells down to 0V. I don’t know if I just got a bad one or if they changed circuitry between the models.

Got curious by the different TOMO models, so I checked their descriptions:

TOMO M4 = micro-USB input (seems to be previously known as TOMO V8-4)
TOMO T4 = micro-USB + lightning input
TOMO S4 = micro-USB + lightning + USB-C inputs
the above inputs are limited to 5v/1A, no matter then type of input

TOMO Epilot E4 = micro-USB input (up to 5v/2A); LCD now has additional temperature display (compared to the above 3 models)

It would look like the Epilot E4 is the latest and most advanced of the above; even though it doesn’t have the extra lightning and USB-C inputs.

I wonder which DIY powerbank has UPS feature (ie. supports pass-thru charging; can charge the powerbank, while at the same time the powerbank is charging another item, without having USB power cut-off)

I don’t think DIY powerbanks are worthwhile as they are now if you already have a 18650 charger. You can buy a good powerbank with integrated batteries for only a few dollars more. Sure, the concept of an enclosed charger that can be used as power bank, saving the weight of a separate one and allowing independent renewal of electronics and batteries, is quite good, but IMHO the current offerings lack enough quality/$.

I think the TOMO Epilot E4 is a good option
