One of the projects I’m planning will incorporate the large head and reflector from a boruit rj-2013 style light which will be extended to separate the emitter from the driver. I plan to use a srk v2 fet driver with thermal stepdown from RMM’s site and an xhp70 n4 3b driven by 2s4p 18650s. My main concern at this point is the tint. Choices are rather limited and I want something close to 5000k but am concerned it might be a bit greenish. Anyone used this emitter? What’s the color like? Also considering the 5a tint but concerned it would be too warm.
I have used the XHP70 3C tint and its the best tint in a light that I have seen. My opinion only. All the best for the build.
Checkout that 3rd line of XHP70s here. They claim to stock a very nice “N4 3C” with “H” (80+) CRI bin spec. I ordered one of the 4000Ks yesterday.

I decided to go ahead and order the srk fet driver and xhp70 5a emitter. It seemed to be the best course of action rather than ordering the emitter and waiting weeks for it to arrive. This way I’ll have the emitter and driver by monday. I looked at some beamshots and think I’ll be satisfied with the color.
Suggestions for a moderate output high capacity protected 18650 at a reasonable price? Running 2s4p I don’t need high output current from each cell.

I’ll mod mine to 4’2/4’8A of output, with 2S 26650/18650s at the input.

Ok, I ordered 8 NCR18650B. With 2s4p 3400 mAh I should get some good run times.
