one of these days I'll take my dry apart and measure 'tail' and emitter currents. I'm of the opinion that even in DD there is at least 10% loss - but then, opinions are like.........
In non-direct drive lights I think it is worthwhile, and maybe someday I'll do a runtime test, though that might not tell us much w/o a data logging light meter?
