Good news for current owners. Ric plans to include this in version 3
Everybody will include it. Even that dealer from from Vietnam, maybe some of you guys have bought from him too.
Also the plan is to get the PWM freq way up. So in that case it'd be somewhat more efficient in the lower modes already.
That’s good news about the driver. He mentioned upgrade but didn’t know if would make it in time for V3. Too bad it’s still not regulated but unlikely at this price point.
I'm already doing the F5 thing on cnqualitygoods dry page
Also for V3 build in a side switch!!!
that would be so awesome that i'd probably buy 2
That would be awesome... then I would have to buy one! Do you think he reads this?
Agreed. Side switch and I would definitely be in as well :D
Hey the spring on the + end of the new carrier would solve the problem that one owner reported: tapping the Dry's tail sharply on a table (or dropping it) can cause the old battery carrier to momentarily lose contact with the driver, and thus switch modes. I like that the new carrier is nice, but not TOO nice so as to be expensive.
I just placed an order with those guys last week, I wish I would have seen that.
When will V3 be released?

Hmmmm.... :)
We'll see about quality when I get it. The carrier has always been my biggest worry, can't wait.
This battery carrier isn’t available from Int’l Outdoors any more, but CNQ still has these two carriers:
1. Loading...
2. Loading...
I have the original DRY and the battery carrier is starting to fall apart (flimsy plastic, starting to crack). I tried searching around, but there seems to be no real answer as to which of the two is preferred. The current DRY lights come with the second carrier. Just go for the cheapest option and copper braid mod it any way?
I have a couple of the second one.
hard to imagine it cracking, i’d definitely buy that one. i expected the green one to be cheaper.
careful with copper braid mod if you use low resistance cells.
if you use long cells you’ll want to add a small spacer between the rod and end plate.
Awhile back I ordered 10 of the 1459 and received 10 of the 1974. These are nice quality holders and work perfect...but you never know what you are going to get!
