DX stopped carrying fauxtons?? Help!

Hi,

First of all I’d like to apologize if i’m posting in the wrong area; just registered to hopefully get some advice.

A few months ago I ordered some ‘fauxtons’, 1-led tiny keychain flashlights from DealExtreme which everybody knows about of course. At that time they had a huge selection, including 10- and 50-pcs packs with LEDs of different colors… really a lot of those button-size lights.

Now I tried to order some more today - and!! There are NO such lights there AT ALL!!! It’s a disaster! What am I to do, how am I going to survive ;( I gave out the ones I had bought before, now where do I get some new ones??

I’m not really a flashaholic so don’t know much about other DX-like websites but hope that you, the experts in the area, would be able to point me in the direction of some good quality inexpensive fauxtons (I need some bright white ones). Any help would be much appreciated!

Yeah, I noticed it too. It was shortly after I posted a review on them too. Oh well. I ended up ordering from www.lightscastle.com instead. It was a little more expensive, but delivery was very fast. One week, including a long holiday weekend.

There is a quality problem. Only two out of ten worked as they should in the last batch I bought from them.

As a previous poster inplied, there’s a wide range of quality and because some web biznesses seem to rotate the wholesalers supplied, it’s a little roll of the dice………

Check this forum for trusted sellers and when you find a current one <2 weeks or so BUY!

I suspect some quality problems too. I bought a 10-pack a few months back and only get 8 piece, out of which only 4 works properly.

DX simply sent another 10-pack as replacement, out of which I think 5 works properly. So anyhow in total I got 9 good piece from two shipments, and multiple ones I have to fix. I'm ok with that.

But of course I think DX is bearing a lot of cost for carrying this item - simply due to them having to send replacements all the time.

Did you mean dx ones, or fasttech ones?

Hmm...my last two orders for were red lights. 19 out of 20 work. I had one order for white lights over a year ago and they all worked. Are the problems anything more than dead batteries? With the way mine have been packed, I'm surprised I only got one dead light. The red lights from DX and Lightscastle appear to be exactly the same. Even the baggie they come in has the same item number: 12160.
