Mine is glued fast, unfortunately, as are many other HS-802 samples.
But it's nice to see what's inside, thanks.
Hs-802 reflector is alot deper then one from Trustfire X8 XL-M same diameter tho so i was thinking to get XM-L and solder it to this driver and see what hapens mybe to get beter driver if i wana use XM-L on it.
Can somone sugest me what driver is hould get and which XM-L and where to buy?
I can post pictures whit diameter sizes of emiter heatsing or driver and this R2 star
thnx
Not shure, but the much larger die size of the XM-L over the XR-E (along with the notably different emission pattern) may prove to be inadequate for this reflector to focus properly.
It might turn into a rather floody flashlight.
On the other hand, if it works, it should be tremendous.
Mine works quite well. Better than expected in fact.
There is a beamshot here.
Must remember to pull out the annoying resistor switch, at the moment it is a ten-mode light. It is using a 5 mode Ebay driver that seems to give the full 3A. It was a pretty easy mod once I'd got the @$%^%^&£ thing apart.
I like these drivers you can get 5 for $21 at KD and they pull 2.8 amps on high come as 5 mode but can be soldered into a 3 mode if you don't like the flashy modes.

or you can get the same driver from Shiningbeam and not wait an eternity to get it and it is already a 3mode high, medium and low, also pulls 2.8 amps on high.

I believe this is a review of this driver.
I have used both emiters these are 20mm I think $9 each

These are 16mm I like the tint better on these $9 each
