Well, after someone mentioned starting a thread on this topic in my "Introduce Yourself" thread, I figured "what can it hurt?"
Just in case you're curious, here's my "Introduce Yourself" thread. I'm gonna warn you though, I was a little long winded there.
Anyway! I am a vaper, which means I use e-cigs (all explained in the above link). After a couple of people in that thread mentioned they too are vapers, I asked myself, "Self! Just how many vapers can there be here?" I also asked myself, "Self!!!! Hey self! Self? Hello?" Then, once myself realized I was talking to myself instead of the other voices, I said to myself, "I wonder how many people here have heard about vaping but know nothing about it yet would like to know more?" Once the voices died down (myself woke everyone else up) I decided to hop over here and start a thread. Hopefully, not nearly as long winded as my first 2 posts, though!
So, here it is. How many people here are currently vapers? If you are a vaper, what kind of PV (Personal Vaporizer) do you use? What kind of battery is in it? (Brand, size, and voltage please) Have you ever had a battery fail on you while using a PV? Do you know what caused the failure?
If you're a smoker and you'd like some information about vaping, feel free to PM me or (if it doesn't break forum TOS) just ask in here. I'm thrilled to pass on anything I know to someone in the hopes it will help that person (or someone they know) quit smoking.
hey there, welcome to the forum, im fairly new here too. Im doing alot of research right now, trying to find the right e-cig, and I think i have settles on the Reo Mini, since it stores 3ml of liquid and uses a protected 14500 battery.
Im just confused on the many attachments.. I have the battery, and Im getting some Low Resistance Cisco rated 1.5 Ohm 306 atomizers for it. I think it will fit me perfect. Low maintenance, lots of throat hit, last me all day (I only smoke around 10 cigarettes a day currently) Ive been smoking since i was 15ish, im 34 now. almost 20 years..I gotta stop for my 3 young kids. I want to live past 50.
I vaped about 4 years ago, used a 510 pen style but got frustrated with changing/refilling carts every night, carrying 3xbatteries with me and using passthroughs in my car..was too much hassle and led to my smoking analogs again.
I am trying to find a cheap mod for 14500 or 18350 IMR with built in low voltage protection, any ideas?
If possible a vertical one, not those with the carto/cat/ato/clearo-mizer on one side, and with side switch, am I asking for too much? Haha.
The batteries I am using now are the 1100mah (theorical) from lightake and also a 900mAH one with battery display.
The thing is, I would like to have just a single host, and 2 remaining charged batteries in the pocket, and the IMR on thos sizes are the ones that seduce me most.
I use an Altsmoke Silver bullet with either 16340 or 18650 batteries. Low Res 510 atomizers with 18650's and std res 510 atties with 16340 batts. I also use the same setup with a Madvapes Roughstack.
Let me know if you need help with the vaping stuff. I've been involved with vaping for quite a while.
Lifelong smoker also 43. I got a EGO 510 3 years ago and instantly quite smoking analogs. I switched to the EGO tank when it came out now I use the EGO T attys from Priceangles for $2.73 compared to $16 for the real EGO ones. They work really well and the price can't be beat.
Could someone maybe write a "cheat sheet"? Knowing what you know now, what would you buy as a beginner? You know, eliminate the learning curve for us "slow" folks? Honest, I tried. I went to those sites and looked and was overwhelmed ARG! So if one of you could write a list of what to buy to introduce a beginner, maybe explain juicing, atties, lavatubes OMG. Something that works on a 18650 platform. Write me a list and I will buy it. Once I get my feet (LIP"S) wet I can run with the ball.Help us noobs get through the door?
I've been smoking too damn long and have also been thinking about the e-cigs. I too felt overwhelmded by information when trying to do some research a few months ago. I would also like to see some input on the subject. Personally the 18650 sounds attractive to me since I have bunch of those batts already. I just know I want to quit "analog" as E1320 put it. It's time to go digital!!!
Used any number of e cigs. They just don't work for me.
Need to stop smoking and no amount of nicotine substitution works for me. Tried them all. None of them work for me. If it isn't burning it ain't working for me.
Same for the smack-heads I spend much of my time at work with. Meth(adone) / Suboxone / Temgesic / Buprenorphine don't work for them either.
If it did; they wouldn't be in my office.
Meth works for a lot of them - but doesn't work with their crack addictions.
I tried the Nicotine Gum, The patches, ( kept rolling them up, wouldn't stay lit ) hypnosis and even acupuncture.
None of it worked for me. I tried for over 20 years to quit. I almost gave up due to no will power.
I did educate myself about the e-ciggs and went from smoking 2 plus packs per day to vaping. You can control the amount of nicotine you receive more accurately by adjusting the e-juice. I've even come up with all natural tobacco juice made from organic tobaccos and it completely changed my mind about the effectiveness of e-ciggs.
I never thought that I'd ever quit and I am so thankful that I made the effort. I still enjoy nicotine and am totally satisfied and I am saving so much money compared to analogs.
The one thing I will say for any new or potential vaper is this..
Like many EDC things in life, have a back-up for your back-up. If you get into mods have another ready to take over in case of failure. I may this weekend post a pic of my stable.. If vaping works for you prep yourself for failure of you chosen device. many "starter" kits fall to this fate. When you order that EGO kit understand that it is an introduction to vaping. It will not last forever. Get into some of the 18650 "hard" mods and you are at this point committed. I have watched this thread , but not commented on those that would like to try it because I never wanted to steer someone in the direction that I have followed.
With all of the different tank atties out there now I just say to people start with basic dripping. See if vaping is for you.
