E70 mini battery compatibility

I just got an E70 Mini from Acebeam, and I have a bunch of both protected and unprotected NCR18650GAs. However, I’m not sure if the batteries can be used on the E70 Mini due to its 10A CDL.

Flat tops might be short. Buy some 18650 spacers from convoy to use flat tops. Unprotected button tops will probably work if the button is tall enough. If you use protected button tops make sure they are 10A or higher. The E70 Mini uses a boost driver, so it needs a good bit of current for turbo.

I’m mostly concerned about the current draw of the 3 519A’s. Is 10A enough?

I’ve tried some 10A and even 8A cells in mine and it enters turbo just fine. Sofirn 18650s rated at 6A won’t let the light do turbo at all, it’ll flash then step down. The included protected cell is 15A, so if you want something to match the original go for 15A cells.

It’s a boost driver, not a FET. I don’t believe higher current matters past a certain point. Acebeam doesn’t post specs for their boost driver, so we don’t know the current in/current out.

Best would be to use protected button tops, dont think the light draws anyway near 10 amps even on turbo…

A button top Samsung 30Q works well in the E70 Mini. Its a good all-around cell to have for length-finicky lights like this.
