You’d think they could keep their stock straight.
Sounds more to me like they ordered the drivers from a supplier who sent them good ones and bad ones. The supplier — of course — supplied FT with ONLY the good ones for testing.
Reading all the replies I have lost my confidence to order this driver from FT. Is there anywhere else does sell this damn East-092 driver with TRUE direct-drive?
EDIT: Or actually any other DD driver will do, not necessarily just East-092, as long as it has medium or low mode.
Little off topic but sku 1114500 is a good and cheap alternative. Not fully direct drive, but quite good with a little modification. A simple jumper over a resistor, and the current will increase from 3A to about 3.7-3.8A.
All 4 are equil. The output on high solely depends on the battery, as with any direct drive.
I just burned out a xml-t6 led in my hd2010 I got from tmart. I installed a 26650 TF flame and measured tailcap current and it skyrocketed to 5.5-5.8 amps. Low and behold it had an east 92 driver in it. That driver is not one of the 4 from FT though. It came with the light originally.

I changed out the T6 in my HD2010 for an L2 but kept the east 92 driver. My lux outpout essentially doubled, from 26k to over 50k at 15 feet.
It is — however — really battery dependant as has been mentioned. Use a worn-out used pack pull, and the output is nothiong special. Use a new Samsung 2800, and it’s like a light cannon!
I have an order with FT now with a couple of these, and it’s waiting on availability of their EAST-092 driver. It was showing as “Ships in 2 days” on their webpage, but order page says should ship 9/18.
Hopefully, whatever they ship will be like yours :)!! Driver lottery :)!
And yes, the original HD2010s came with the “good” EAST-092 driver. I got one of those from Tmart awhile ago, but it took a couple of tries (returned and got a good one).
