Easter Eggs in the UI. Undocumented Features?

Have you found any undocumented features in your lights?

I’ve found a few cases where the instructions differ from the actual UI, but mostly that was in cheap lights where the whole documentation process was sketchy at best.

Like a zoomie that defaults back to high after being off for a while. Instead of going to the next mode like the instructions think it should.

Or the Tacklife LFL3A. Muto discovered one could hold down the button to turn it off and the next turn on would be in the next mode, instead of reverting to high.

On a Sofirn C8G, I discovered a hidden ultra low ramp mode. That can ramp down to the lowest brightness I’ve ever seen.

What else is hiding out there?

I wish to B’harni (pbuh!) that someone would add LOL mode instead of SOS mode…

“Hey, lookit that! Looks like that guy’s in trouble!”

“Naw, he’s only joking…”

I like it.
I wonder if there has been Subliminal messaging hidden in the PWM that is constantly saying:
MUST HAVE LIGHTS! - BUY MORE LIGHTS!

It’s no wonder I can’t stop.
All the Best,
Jeff

Some people have found their Wizard Pro Nichia have a second UI:

O V A L T I N E flashlights

I) On the Sofirn C8G, there are 2 methods of going to the Lowest "Moon" (not exactly "Moon" level):

a) method 1:
- double-click (or ramp) to Turbo mode, then another double-click goes to what you called "Ultra-Low" Moon mode

b) method 2:
- with tailswitch in "Off" position: hold down the side button, while clicking the tailswitch to turn it On: this also results in the "Moon" level
(I think this is documented in the manual)

Other Sofirn flashlights seem to have undocumented "bugs":
II) Sofirn SP32A (v1), this bug is not present in SP32A v2.0
BUG: Flashlight "locked out" in "Strobe" mode

- from Off: triple-click to go to Strobe mode, then do 4 clicks, this will result in a "Lockout" mode but the flashlight is doing "Strobe" mode.
it appears to be a "bug" because 4-click Lockout should only be possible while in Off mode.
while in regular "On" mode, doing 4-clicks will not Lockout the light
but if we go to the Strobe from Off, then do the 4-click Lockout, I think the firmware thinks it is still in Off mode and allows the "Lockout" but while Strobing.
(to exit: either do another 4 clicks or unscrew the tailcap)

III) Sofirn C8F-18650 (this only applies to the first version Sofirn C8F that uses 18650 battery and side-switch operation)
BUG: Flashlight "locked out" but still in "Moon" mode

- with the flashlight ON (any brightness), long-press/hold side-button to go to Moonlight, then do 4-clicks to lock-out => this "locks out" the light, but the LED is still in "Moon" mode;
note: the "bug" does not occur when accessed this way:
if from Off, long-press side-button to go to Moonlight, then do 4-clicks, it doesn't lock-out [verify further])

IV) Wurkkos WK30
(I think this is a bug, but it's not that easily replicated (but if you do more times, it will certainly occur)
BUG: white LED lights up at the same time as the Red LED (this shouldn't occur normally since there is no stated mode that has both LEDs lit up at the same time)

- from Off: double-click to turn on Red light, another double-click to go to Strobing mode (flashing red + white)
this bug occurs randomly: while the light is in "flashing white+red" mode, and while it is flashing white,
double-click the light will go to the regular red mode, however, the highest level red brightness will also turn on the white LED at low brightness
(ie. red LED on High and white LED on Low - both LEDs lit up at the same time)
