I just found out about something that has been going on for quite some time time, but it was new to me and it is possibly new and of interest to you.
I noticed that a chinese ebay seller, which I had in my favourite sellers list, didn't have any items listed anymore. Initially I thought the seller went out of business, but I found some of his ebay items with google, and the feedback page also shows that the seller is alive and kicking. But when I want to see the items he sells, it says that the seller doesn't have any products for sale.

By searching through ebay forums I found out that ebay is systematically blocking listings from chinese sellers that don't have the "top rated seller" badge. This happens with the excuse of wanting to protect buyers from "bad" sellers from china. The problem is, I often bought from non-top-rated sellers with 99.x% positive feedback and I never had a problem. In fact there are some top-rated sellers that have worse positive feedback percentage than others who don't have the top-rated badge.
I have no idea how a seller gets that top-rated badge, but my guess is that there is money involved and by blocking these sellers ebay wants them to pay for the top-rated badge.
Well, long story short, nowadays ebay sucks more than a vacuum cleaner. Personally I think this is a Riesensauerei, but there's probably not much to do against it except filing product requests at Fasttech.

well I did sell and on the sell page, you can see your selling limit. He probably jsut hit his max when you check up on him. Here’s a quote directly from the sell page on ebay.
“Monthly selling limits”
“You can sell up to 100 items or up to $5,000.00 per month, whichever comes first.”
Then it's probably only a local issue

On another note, why does ‘police flashlight’ come up when you search for ‘flashlight’? It’s as if sellers are trying to sell the torch as a standard issue police flashlight. Pretty sure they don’t have any.

I thought some of the ebay sellers I liked went out of business in the past, but seems like ebay Germany just don’t like them anymore. oO

I can see 897 items too. However, if I change the url to use Ebay UK, I see 0 items, e.g.:

I have run into this before with US sellers. Go to Ebay.com and I can see the items for sale, and worldwide shipping is clearly visible (so it isn’t a listing restriction). I have bought items this way.
I knew Ebay has different “search result” when user is from different countries. So I usually search ebay.com, ebay.com.hk, ebay.co.uk, ebay.com.sg.
Ebay don’t just search based on keywords you key in, looks like it depends on seller rating and seller extra advertisement fee either.
To me it makes no difference if I use ebay.de or ebay.com, so the filtering seems to be IP-based.

and as Chloe said, if running on another country site, the listing might be not the same.
I ask to Ebay once regarding search result of music CD. sometimes the result is zero on ebay.com.
it is very unlikely there’s no listing at all for particular musician.
But if I run at Ebay UK or Ebay AU, there are a lot of listing for the same keyword.

Yeah, ebay.com also gives me 0 results. But trough http://www.proxythesite.com the items are there.
Its not IP based. I had the same problem and set up Chrome to bypass that issue.
Go to: chrome://chrome/settings/languages
then add english and move it to the top. Works on any browser, the preferred language to display websites has to be english and you have to use ebay.com, then you'll see all results again.

Uh, make sure you have "See items from sellers worldwide ticked." It's different than just not ticking UK/Aus/US only.
