Hello, this is my first time here.
I purchased the 18650 dive flashlight Elfeland XD-8770-3. After a short time it stopped working. It has a sliding switch on the upper area below main LED housing. Upon internal examination, the switch has no moving parts inside the housing. I’m unsure how this flashlight turns on.
Does anyone have one and had any issues with it?
At this point I’m not familiar with how to respond to inquiries.

It works with a magnet to keep it waterproof.

Did you actually dive with it? Did it leak/flood?

Hello, I don’t think I had a chance to dive with it before it stopped working. The batteries are good. I have 5 of them, all charged.
I even tried them in the opposite way to see if I was getting it wrong.
I see the switch on the outside is magnetic but sliding a thin harddrive magnet into the inside there the switch would be located, show no magnetic properties. It should have that if the switch is to work with one on the inside. There’s not even any sound of a magnet clicking on the inside.
I had the light assembly apart to check all the contacts and their all good.

I need to get specific trouble shooting instruction about this flashlight.
I could not find a website either. There are numerous products on Amazon, ebay, etc. but none look quite like that.
FWIW I do have functioning dive lights that work with magnets. One type has a simple slider. I can remove the outside slider by removing a retaining ring. There is a magnet bonded to the inside of the slider. Inside the light I cannot see any working parts. I don’t really know how it works.
I can feel a mild magnetic pull inside with the tip of a screwdriver, but the barrel is smooth.
The other 2 have a rotating ring. I’ve only had one apart. It works, but it’s a pain to get it apart, and then get everything properly aligned again to make it work properly once assembled. It’s a poorly made light. It’s not made to deal with saltwater. I did dive with it and it worked, but I would no longer dive with it. Friends that did inevitably had floods.
Since it’s ‘broke’ and you have nothing to lose, I’d say you have to get the head off, which likely will be difficult since I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s glued/sealed on. I seriously doubt you’ll find any support for a light like this. Most of the LED lights are a do-it-yourself opportunity.
If you are a diver, and you want to dive with something like this I’d suggest you look for a better light. There are a lot of decent lights for a big range of uses and prices. The ‘dirt cheap’ lights are not a good fit for diving. Reliability, great seals, and saltwater resistance are important. Cheap sites tend to market the ‘blinding light’, etc, but don’t address diving critical features. Ultimately they tend to go bad even if they don’t flood.
