Emisar DA1K available with more color options.

I’m assuming the version shipping now is using loneoceans’ dev branch. It has a smooth rainbow effect in standby instead of the stepped rainbow, but it otherwise does nothing different with the dimmable RGB. Builds like this are meant to test that the hardware works.

To get the rest of the dimmable RGB features, you’ll need newer firmware. But the firmware isn’t ready yet.

Also note… if you are sensitive to pulsing or strobing or flickering, you might not like this. The dimmable aux LEDs use PWM for their dimming, which means they strobe at 250 Hz.

For an idea how that looks, I took a picture of the new aux LEDs next to another light which uses slow PWM. Top (white) is a MELD light with 488 Hz PWM, and bottom (blue+green) is an aux LED on a KR1K at 250 Hz. The lights are still, but the pulses are visible because the camera is moving. It was a 1-second exposure with a single sweep across the lights. This shows how it looks if you move your eyes while the lights are in your field of vision.

The KR1K main LEDs do not use PWM. They are constant current, using the same loneoceans Lume boost circuit as Hank’s other torches, so they emit constant light and have very high dynamic range. The strobe effect is only on the aux LEDs.

The standard aux LEDs use about 0.1 mA with constant output. The new dimmable aux LEDs use about 5 mA with PWM to reduce the average brightness.
