Really want to get that smooth copper S1+ but am having hard time to decide. SFT40 in 3000k will look awesome that host, nice warm white along with usable throw of SFT40, op reflector of corse.
But I also am wondering to have the best tint with B35AM or 219 in 4500k as I don’t have these emitters in any of my lights. But am wondering how practical will these two be.
Any suggestions?
I recently got a Brass S2+ with B35AM 4500K and I love it.
I have 0 SFT40 3000K, and the 219B 4500K really didn’t wow me too much.

I recently got a S2+ Brass with the 519A 3500K . Very nice in my opinion. I might have to put a SFT40 in an S2+ just to see how it looks. Ideally I would want it in the S2 reflector ( deeper , better throw ) I haven’t put a SFT40 in a light yet and not liked it though.
I always like sst20 2700k JA3 bin. Didn’t lose as much power as the 219b in the lower temperatures. I ran it with the Zhu optics for a while, it is a nice mule. I think copper deserves 3500k or under.

the 3000K SFT40 is a good match for copper, and it has a great focused hotspot,
otoh I dont think warm white makes sense for a thrower.. i prefer cooler options in throwy lights.. it is much easier to see a cooler beam than a warm one

True, that’s why I already have quite a few SFT40 5000k+ throwers including S6 
219 seems like a nice classy match if it’s that classic sw45k. The B35am is reportedly positive duv on all settings but 100%, so it doesn’t sound that special and thus not quite worth taking up the spot in the premium host… though I haven’t tried it myself.
I’ve got the other (“litnit”) copper host and I’m just about to put a dedomed 2700k 519a in to keep things nice and warm and cozy for the winter : )
Thanks. I definitely suggest you to try SFT40 3000k. It’s excellent both in S2+ and S6. I have both with op reflectors. S6 will have tighter spot of course, but S2+ will also have spottier beam compared to 519a. Just make sure you will have green coated glass with it as sometimes Convoy installs purple coated.
I have a SFT40 6000K in that Grey S2+ with the Orange 18350 tube, It’s great!
4000K is about as warm as I like.
I recently got my first B35AM in an S2+. It’s 3500K and is slightly rosy and has a very nice beam. I like it, although the CCT is closer to 2700K.
Any of the 219Bs would also be good in an S2+. I have all of the CCTs in various flashlights and they have great tint and CRI, but not as bright as other LEDs. BUT, that should not discount how nice they are.
For my latest S2+, I put in a sliced 519A. Just as nice beam as a B35AM and slightly rosy. I sliced it to around 1.2mm and they are now my favorite type of 519A. The domed are very nice, but somewhat boring. The dedomed are very rosy and also nice. And the sliced are in-between.
