Okay, it’s the S1R that has the magnetic charger base. It seems to be a few mm taller than the S1 to it’s right.

I don’t know if you can say that all brands of this battery style are bad based on just 2 examples.

Have you figured out the cause of those battery failures? Was it anything to do with the charger circuit or was it just bad batteries?

I don’t have any of this battery style simply because I don’t like having to take the battery out to recharge it.

You’re right Better “testing” than early conclusions on single episode! Still, it is a data that makes me think about these batteries…

Mine left the China sorting center on Sept 4th. It may be on its way to the USA right now. The delivery window is Sept 5th to 17th. So maybe I’ll get it some time this week. You never really know how long it will take for shipping, 2 to 4 weeks is common. It will eventually get there. Lol

I don’t expect anything new as far as reviews go. It’ll probably have the same mode spacing as the original M3. About the only thing that’s changed is the built-in charging.

I’m not sure what you mean by the tint being more throwing. It’s small OP reflector does a good job of throwing, just like all the tints. I prefer CW and the tint seems fine to me. There’s no blue in it.

The charging rate is 1A. I reported 0.94A in my review.

Both emitters use the same size die, so throw should be the same. I checked my old xml2 M3 and new xpl M3 Pro on the low setting and they got exactly the same candela.

Depending on what lux meter you use, the warmer tint may have a slightly lower reading. I know my HS1010A lux meter reads NW about 5% lower than CW.

The M3 is really not a thrower type of light. It’s more for close up use in my opinion.
