does anyone noticed that xp-g3 model getting heat up rapidly than the earlier model astrolux.
I had E14 nichia version. But this new xp-g3 is getting quite hot, even at level 5 out of 7.

xp-g3 has a very low Vf , so they pull more amps from the battery (and more heat) . I explained it as simply as i could .

Are there any other Manker type lights now being made by a different manufacturer ?

I received my s41, it has the same upgraded head as the s41s.

Very interesting. I just got another S41 recently. I’ll have to check and see if it has the upgraded head as well. I haven’t really even taken it out of the box yet.

XP-G3 was the first S41S palin I got, failed and then received the replacement head. It is Bright and white.

I got all the flavors, except colored. The stripped aluminum S41 is still empty, was a failed emitter. S41S head is still empty, was the failed XP-G3 that was replaced. Need a dedicated 18650 tube for the new Nichia S41S and one for the head now that tails are available separately. One of the S41 has had 2X nichias replaced with 219C. Another S41 also failed and is now XP-L HI on Tpad and Carclo. Forget what the other S41 is… may still be the only original surviving stock S41 out of the 4.

I have realized that s41s is too heavy for edc and tail knurling is too agressive so I started to swap parts.
I have black astrolux s1 with 18350 and 18650 tubes and s41s with short tube. (All from banggood). I wonder but all threads are different.
S41S short SS tube have 21.8mm threads OD. Cant enter S1 internals.
S1 short tube fits s41s but threads OD is 21.6mm.
S1 long tube goes trought threads in s41s head and tail because threads OD is just 21.3mm.
Im not saying about length difference, waterproof and etc., just threads fitting.
Can anyone measure bare a6 tubes from BG?
Anyway (I have already posted this in S41 thread when S41S was just in our dreams) SS bezel+copper head+aluminium tubes seems much prettier as EDC than all cu+ss light. Tail can be both from alu or ss but I think that p60 light have best solution when SS is only used for the top part of tail, while main material is alu.
