for me personally, I recently had an order show up with no contents and the insurance will cover that. If the light is damaged (or missing) then it will be covered. That’s my understanding anyways

If the emitter is only going to put out 2A at 12v with the 2S2P battery carrier, plus using a boost driver then each of the 4 cells might see 2.5A (2A plus a bit extra for driver efficiency). With only 2 cells in the carrier, the load will be about 5A each max.

There is no need for high drain cells on this light.

That doesn’t seem quite correct, 2A~12V =~24W , 2A~8V=~16W. I think it should draw at least 3A with fully charged cells, increasing as voltage drops.

Still, ‘ordinary’ cells should be fine.

The 2A@~12V =~24W is at the emitter. (30w is closer to actual)

2 cells in series in the battery carrier would be 6v and 5A. Which is 5A each cell due to being in series.

4 cells would be half the load, because they are added in parallel, which is 2.5A per cell.

I’m not sure where you got 2A@~8V=~16W from.

For those who want insurance option, Do NOT click on the big yellow PAYPAL button on the first check out page. Instead, click on the button just to the right of it that says CHECK OUT. New page pre-selects PAYPAL, and on the right side of the page they give the option of adding INSURANCE. Then when you hit PLACE ORDER button, it redirects you to PAYPAL to complete your payment. When done you go back to BG site that indicates THANK YOU SUCCESSFUL ORDER (or something like that). Or at least this is how it worked for me…I think…when you are old, memory is the second thing to go. Can’t remember what the first thing is…

Good idea. I opened a chat with BG live chat and they wanted 2.52 USD shipping insurance for my one flashlight. Maybe there is a ship insurance discount when multiple lights are ordered?

EDIT: The 2.52 USD was based on the 125.00 USD price (NOT the 78.09 USD discounted price) :rage: , but I couldn’t convince them that the shipping insurance should be based on the discounted price. It’s only an extra $1.27 and still a great deal overall.
Oh well, lesson learned: select the “Proceed to Checkout” button instead of the “Checkout with PayPal” button to avoid the mess altogether. A big THANK YOU to freeme!
