There are a lot of companies that add protection circuits to the Sanyo 3500 GA cell.

It looks like Blazar are unique to that one Australian ebay seller.

It seems I’ve spent too long looking for similar cells available from within AU, instead of looking outside of our borders. Orbtronic, Hixon (from AliExpress), there even seems to be some Liitokala’s claiming to be NCR18650GAs.

I have some photos of the Blazar cells installed in the MF02 carrier being uploaded to Imgur here - should give a rough idea of the fit.

haha. I still think I will try your option and cut them back a little. Will be easy to pop the batteries in and out too.
