They also make/rebrand the E84 SWM magnetic ring clone. Electronics nothing like the originals though.

@ agenthex: They do? Is that also an "Explorer" branded light or what is it called?

Very cool. Do they make one in 18650?

Yes: Sunwayman M10R R5 Copy $25.15

I saw this

It’s a 1 AAA light with one mode of 80 lumens for 4 hours. I don’t think that is even close to possible. How can you get 80 lumens for four hours out of a single AAA? If it is true, that is one amazing light!

I meant a headlamp in 18650. I would love the light pictured here but done in 18650. I like the light posted so much I am tempted to order one to see how it is. I assume it can take 14500s?

An hour on high just doesn’t cut it. I would need to carry an extra battery to make it through the day. I find I need about 2+ hours of runtime out of my headlamp or EDC flashlight for a normal working day.

I was replying to Ledsmoke and didn’t see your post since it wasn’t posted yet (see comment times above).

Don’t expect wonders from the electronics. If you want similar features but 18650, there’s this: http://www.tmart.com/UltraFire-TS602B-CREE-Q5-5W-180230LM-5-Mode-Focus-Flashlight_p141639.html

No, I was only interested because it was a headlamp. I have enough flashlights. I need a good floody 1 x 18650 headlamp and am surprised there are not a bunch on the market.

Have you tried the Ultrafire ones?

Funny, they copied the Exlorer logo from a Japanese flashlight brand, Gentos.

The orange clicky is nasty, would that be hard to change?

TY!

Not in 18650. That’s probably going to be the one but I hear bad thing about the H3 and H6.

I think think headlamps are so useful but there are just so few different choices. When you start to narrow down what you don’t want, you are really limiting your choices.

Don’t want:

Exposed wires or cables

Battery pack on back

Throw, it’s for close up work so shoukd be flood

Short runtime

Strobe or a bunch of modes. High and med are fine.

Bulk or heavy

I really like the looks of the OP light and might buy even if it is AA as long as it can take 14500.

And now I remember seeing that light referenced before also. I must be tired today(I am - no rest for too long). Thanks for being overbearing with me, I slip up when I'm tired :-(

What kind of problems does it have? What do you think of the light overall?
