Does anyone have a, for lack of a better word, off brand or sub budget flashlight that has worked well for you. I see a lot of copy cat flashlights on Amazon, Ali, etc. and I was curious if there’s a good one? I’m excluding brands like sofirn, wurkkos, wuben etc.

I don’t typically bother with off-brand flashlights anymore.
It seems like anything cheaper than Convoy/Sofirn/Wurkkos isn’t all that great.
Hopefully someone else will chime in with some recommendations.
EDIT:
For keychain flashlights, I like the Tunenge S15.
That one might qualify as off-brand or sub-budget, especially compared to RovyVon keychain flashlights.
Yesterday, I ordered a different Tunenge keychain flashlight, but I don’t know how great that cheaper flashlight is (yet).

As has been said, generally it doesn’t make sense to go cheaper than Sofirn/Wurkkos/Convoy. However, I’ve had some luck with certain Alonefire lights. The Xiwangfire BT90 (I suspect made by Alonefire) is an absolute gem of a thrower for under $20 - decent UI, great output, ok build quality, and big reflector for tons of throw. Very hard to beat, in terms of throwers, at the price.
Super cheap keychain lights are hit or miss. I recently modded one that I really like. I just bought another from AE for $2.19.

I have seen that brand several times on Amazon and some of them get good reviews but I don’t know of any reviews from the regular reviewers. They look like thrunite flashlights and sometimes I click on them thinking they are a thrunite.

I like the review and I think I will take a closer look at that brand.

There’s currently a Tunenge with a plastic body on sale.
I usually avoid flashlights with plastic bodies, but this one might be good enough for me.
If not, I’ll probably give it away to someone that I know in real life.
Guardtier, vtiger and warsun are some brands that get some good reviews but I haven’t found one that I would actually buy. I like throwers and they just don’t have the beam distance. You said that you don’t use pocket clips, I don’t either.
I’m somewhat similar.
For my EDC, I prefer having a single emitter that provides some throw and some flood simultaneously.
Convoy lights offer the most emitters with the most options (like tint and high CRI vs. low CRI) for budget flashlights, so I EDC a Convoy.
I have several convoy lights. I just got a T8 flashlight about 2 months ago and I love it. I got a Convoy M21A at the same time.

I got a thrunite T5 today and last week I got a skilhunt E2A and the week before that I got a nextorch P83, I love the red/blue ring safety LED’s. I’m giving it to my sister.
I just ordered a MANKER MC11 III and I can’t find any real reviews. That makes 3 flashlights in one week that I can’t find any good reviews.
Those Glaree E03 AAA twisties. Feather light, other than the occasional alkaleak ruining one, have been reliable zipper-pulls for ages.
Non-captive heads, though, so I always give a wrap with scotchtape to keep the head from untwisting accidentally. Need to use it, just hold it snug and twist, and the tape comes right off or at least rips.

I’d take that as a sign…unless they are new releases that haven’t hit too many peoples hands yet. You can only go so cheap until it isn’t worth it!
You are right, if they were made by a name that I didn’t recognize as legitimate and didn’t have any reviews, I would not have bought them. However, I think the Manker MC11 MK-III is a new release and the Thrunite T5 is definitely a new release.
The two other lights that I bought that didn’t have many reviews were the skilhunt E2A and the Thrunite archer 2A C. The reviews that I did find weren’t negative just average.
