Hi guys i’m building a sst-90 flashlight using 4c cells probably DD i’m having trouble finding a decent switch capable of handling the 13+ amps ( i’m mounting the led directly to a big lump of copper )
I’ve read that a FET is the way to go to allow me to use any (even the mag) switch to control the light, the problem is i have no idea what i’m looking for. I know how they work and how to wire it in but haven’t a clue what kind i need !!
Not to change you idea or anything but instead of the fet would it not be easier to use 3 3A boards in a master slave configuration like Old Lumens did in his sst-90 shower head build.
I always thought regulated was better than DD to maintain a constant level of brightness.
True and i have done this with a tripple xml-u2 set up but i want more than 9 amps, ideally i would want a driver that could run the led at 9a and then be able to do direct drive ( turbo mode)
