Final Thread for the TLF/BLF-Special Edition of the Sofirn SR23

Convoys CuTi Lights aren’t that expensive (especially in comparison with other manufacturers).
A CuAl light will be much cheaper and since the LED and driver are already there, all we need is a new reflector and a different anodizing - and maybe some stonewashing for the Cu-Head if people like it like me

1 Thank

I like MAO. Some think it is delicate, but it is actually harder than Type III anodizing.

It would be nice, but also add to the cost and production complexity (it is easy to get wrong).

I like the blue that Convoy has on a C8 that I own. Maybe with stainless accents ..ring holding the glass and clip?

2 Thanks

Me too! MAO hardness seems to be differential, almost sedimentary in nature. The surface might be relatively fluffy, but the deeper you go the more ceramic-like it gets. I believe our resident @jon_slider took some scotch pads or some other light abrasive and removed the chalky/fluffy layer of the MAO on the TS10.

SORRY THAT I ACT ALWAYS IN THE TLF FIRST!

There I can see fast, in what direction I have to go with all.
A voting is fast created, and the important things I bring here also for asking and voting before I do something else.

In the end I’ll go with the important things from both Forums, not only from one!

The TLF is smaller than the BLF and I can ask there fast a few things.

So, here is my plan for the Forums Flashlights for 2026:

-From Simon we’ve an answer, it looks to me that he’s fine with the S21G with Copper Head and Aluminium Body with the LHP73B and 20A-Driver.
Here we’re looking for 3-5 different possible colors for the Aluminium Body, I’ll offer them all to Simon and try to find a good way for all.

-If we get an positive answer from Hank, we’re planning 1-2 more Flashlights for 2026!
…Emisar D3AA in Aluminium in a special anodisation color.
…Emisar D3AA made from Bronze!
If THIS will be the case, we’ll have three TLF/BLF-Flashlights for 2026!
The idea with the Nichia B35AM came from you here from the BLF…For sure I’ll ask Hank about it, it would be a really special flashlight for all!

-If we get a negative answer from Hank (or for the Aluminium Version only), we’ll ask Simon about a S21G complete Aluminium in a special color with the LHP73B and 20A-Driver!

So we’ll have for nearly everyone a good Flashlight.

How do you think about it?

Did anyone on TLF mention the KR1AA?

I have both the D3AA and Kr1AA. At this point I like the KR1AA better… of course for my use case.

Though it is a newer light, so maybe there are not as many people that have them.

3 Thanks

Only one member asked for a Noctigon. :frowning:

For what it’s worth, the d3aa and the kr1aa are from the same guy lol…

4 Thanks

An anduril 2 light from Simon would be cool.

M21K with anduril LHP73B and 20A-Driver with a nice color?

If the group wants S21G, I would be interested as well.

2 Thanks

Another fun enthusiast Convoy setup could be the S6 with an SFT-42R and a 3V 10A buck driver.

It’d definitely be a hotrod/burn-hazard configuration, but it probably wouldn’t be much worse than the SFT-25R at 8A in the same host that Simon currently offers.

2 Thanks

We can look for it for a second light in 2026.

As I wrote…we have to wait for Hank.
If Hank says “Yes, one or both D3AA versions is/are possible!” we’ll go with Hank for a second and maybe a third flashlight for 2026, so we’ve then a flashlight for everybody.

You might ask Hank about the KR1AA. It is one of his lights. I really like the one I got recently. It is a single LED tail switch light quite similar to the FW1AA. which was quite popular when it was released. I am just thinking that if you plan on doing multiple lights for 2026, it might be nice to have different types available.

4 Thanks

At first Hank has to answer to my question via Email.
I think he’s very busy atm…we’ve to wait.

The S21G is now in the room .. so we’ll see what we’ll have at the end.
