Finally bought a Trustfire X6 and not super impressed.

Finally pulled the trigger on a TF X6 from Aliexpress for $88.88 and received it yesterday. I’ll give it credit for being a nicely made, heavy, and intimidating light, but, after running it on 3 fully charged Tenergy 18650’s, I didnt experience any jaw-dropping performance. I used a Defiant 3-D cell with XML emitter as a comparison and while the X6 is brighter, I dont know if my mind can justify paying 4 times as much. Guess I need to start investigating some how-to’s on modding the X6 to get a little more bang out of it.

For one more dollar, you could have got a btu shocker from banggood

I don’t have the X6, but most budget lights are not that impressive stock. They usually are under driven, out of focus, and plagued with electrical resistance issues. A little elbow grease and you will have that light singing. There are a couple good threads on it that light around here. I think FlashPilot may have one.

Best wishes on your new light. I hear good things about that particular light.

EDIT: Guess I was thinking about the X7. Maybe this thread will help. I believe it’s a very similar light.

Just replace sst with an MT-G2, using the stock driver.

That will do it. Should just about double the current at the emitter, even though the voltage is being doubled as well. Works for me!

link please… might have to just do that.
