It has a different optic (20 vs 25 degree beam angle), short tube for 22430 batteries, and a ‘special’ tailcap for 75mm+ 21700s (with built in charging). The E07x already had something like that for protected 21700s, a part that replaced the spring/pcb to accommodate longer cells. Otherwise, nothing is different…same fet+3 driver (about 1 amp of regulation), same form factor, same leds. Fireflies says they improved the fit and finish, and they have, but the tail caps were a darker shade of blue than the rest of the light. Fireflies was in a tight spot with the E07x out so they went on a refresh campaign to improve existing lights like the PL47G2 2021, added the mule version, and refreshed the E07. The E07x is still a far superior light with better heat sinking, superior driver, better optic, Anduril2, onboard charging. Plus, if you fully option the E07 with Xp-ls or osram, special tailcap, the short tube+22430 battery, it’s just as expensive as the base E07x. Still, it’s a great light though, and if you don’t get the optional leds, it’s a decent value.
Thanks for your reply. I’m not sure I followed a couple of your comments and was wondering if you might clarify? You mention pertaining differences between E07X vs E07 2021 version, that other than beam angle, built in charger (E07x) and included accessories, “nothing is different”, but then mention E07x is still a far superior light with better heat sinking, superior driver, better optic, Anduril2, onboard charging. Is this second comment only directed to comparing E07x with the PL47 that you mention? TIA
To clarify, that was comparing the ‘old’ e07 vs the 2021 edition. The x is still a better light and i think worth the price premium ($98 base price vs $65).
Yesterday i received the e07 cu/ti with violet secondary to join my e07 cu with blue secondary . If you like secondaries, the e07 is much better . The optics are to tight on the e07x to make a show . I like violet a lot, and combined with ti is marvelous .
