First Impressions Sofirn SC13 with 5000K 519a

The Sofirn SC13 w 519a is a handly little High CRI 18350 light with built in charging and a tailmagnet.

I received this light as a review sample. Here is a Sofirn SC13 purchase link and a discount code for 30% off: SC13BLF

this is the new 519a model:

this is the previous model w SST-40:

The Fresnel lens produces a large hotspot with a small outer spill.

I like the form factor of the body waistline, makes it easy to hold in cigar grip.

The bezel is press fit, and very difficult (for me), to remove without cosmetic damage.

The UI is a simple 3 mode (hold from On advances the outputs) with last mode memory (for these 3 main modes only).

There is also a 1 lumen moonlight, which is reached with Hold from Off.

Plus a shortcut to Turbo by 2 clics that works from either Off or On.

From Turbo, another 2 clics gives Strobe.

There is electronic lockout at 3 clics from off. Or the light can be locked by unscrewing the tailcap slightly.

The switch button has a battery charge indicator light that shows green (over 70%), red (less than 70%), or blinking red (less than 30%). It displays for 5 seconds each time the light is turned on.

During charging, the switch button is Red, and turns Green when charging is complete.

This could be a good introductory level light for someone that is not ready for the complexity of Anduril.

The tailmagnet makes it useful for placing on metal surfaces, including the Top of a Refrigerator as an emergency light.

Ha! Cute li’l thang…

Is that duv for the 519a 5000K normal? I thought 519As are a lot more closer to the bbl line

That really just depends on which bin one orders… Excerpt from the datasheet:

Thanks for sharing, didnt know they varied so much. I also just noticed the numerical value, I was looking at the dots and didn’t realize the scales were different for the two graphs.

Mine was around 0.006 according to my Opple LM4 with Windows app, so green as well. Not terribly so, at least for me 0.006 is still very okay.

I think greener bins are slightly more efficient (appear brighter since our eyes are more sensitive to green).

And more matched to natural sunlight, which has a slightly above-the-bbl value.

That 519a DUV is one of the highest I have tested. If the bezel was screwed on, I would DeDome.
