fishing blue color flashlight.

work this real? blue fishing flashligts from fishing?

Just about any color light will work for fishing if it attracts bait fish. Don’t know if blue works better than white or any other color.

Our group swears by these:

Rather expensive, but they work amazingly well. 1 on each side of the boat and we look like a super low flying UFO on the water at distance.

Since you brought this up I was wondering if a floody, waterproof, modded led flashlight would work but for far cheaper. If I could get a beam that goes down into the water greater than 5-6 feet that would be insane.

A LED light with high cd can do that. The turbidity of course plays an enormous part, but, for example, I can stand on a local overpass over a canal and see the bottom of the canal and the fish hiding under it, clearly, and its about 10’ deep there. Its clear water though. If it were muddy, I’d just see muddy water.

The advantage to the type of light you lower down to the fish’s depth, is that you are side lighting them as well as putting the most intense part of the beam closer to them in the first place. That means you see the side facing the light, plus, they are highlighted by the shadows they cast as well. That means if they swim OVER the light, you see the shadow, if they go under it you see their backs, etc.

It also highlights the bottom terrain, showing trenches and hidey holes, etc….where they might be hiding, and where you might be able to lure them out from, etc.

I’ve seen this and wonder what it would be like

Now I want to get into colored emitters! That is a very cool beamshot.
