Flashaholic or not, how to know?

Just curious when one can officially call themselves a flashaholic? I did not realize just how many flashlights I have purchased over the last two years, so this evening I started counting and it's looking scary Granted, I have two many of the cheapo aliexpress ones which would total to about 34, but after joining this forum I also have higher end ones which total to 10 and growing .

If you have more than two flashlights, you’re a flashaholic.

If you have to ask, you’re a flashaholic.

I can quit anytime!

I’ve kinda leveled out on my flashlight purchases. Still looking for something that fits a niche in my small collection but no longer buying on a whim. I think I’m a functional flashaholic. Ya know……I got a handle on it. Pretty sure, I guess.

^ :+1:
The hardest part for me was getting started. I started small like most. I bought my first zoomie, the Ultrafire U-f10. Once it arrived, it was not as I expected.
From that time on I was buying from well known manufacturers only. I started buying throwers. Small ones, then progressed down a list I had made based on throw, output, and lowest cost first. I picked them all off my list slow (not really) but sure. I thought I was done. No deal. I wanted the big stuff when it all began. Acebeam, Fenix, Nitecore, Thrunite, you know. I was a flashaholic before I started. I just needed to get warmed up.
That credit card below, I don’t use them. It was something I made for fun here on the forum. I saved hard to get all I have. Cash in the kitty. Then I went Thrownutty.

I will keep what I like after I play with them all. What I do not like, I’ll pass along to my adult kids for Christmas. Maybe :innocent:
My point of view, I’m not a flashaholic. I messed around with smaller stuff until I could get what I wanted the most. Without growing my collection to much to get where I am now.
Mine total 32

That is one awesome sig line. Best I’ve seen.

How are ya bushmaster
That sig line, I think it speaks of many here in the forums.

Yes, I’ll bet it does.
That said, I’ve been on quite a few forums(sports, vaping, etc.) and I find yours to the finest I’ve seen. Very cool. Well done indeed.

Cheers BM
Thank you

If you are reading this thread you are a flashaholic. :confounded:

I’m refreshing the page. I like reading unreasonable explanations. LOL

Have to admit, best sig! I think I went the same route thinking I'm done, but then the power struggle hit me and I had to get some heavy hitters. I have passed quite a few flashlights over to friends and family but have not let go of the higher quality ones yet except one L6 which I gave to my brother. I was thinking about this today with my wife and for all the hobbies in the world, collecting flashlights overall is a pretty harmless and good way to have some fun and not hard on the bank book either.

ha, best one yet

Thank you.
My wife tolerates my fetish. Like you, I explained to my her I could easily have bad habits. This past 1-1/2 months when a new light arrived, she almost gave me stink-eye. Well yeah, I was excited. I got something I really wanted, and I had it in my hands instead of reading about a lot of others having one instead!! I gave several away this last Christmas to family members. The wife cheered me on. I just smiled, because the tsunami was coming. She had no idea. :innocent:

When you sell your Maxabeam because it didn’t throw far enough. True story.

Haha!!
When I hear of a light that’s new to me, the name, I search for it for some reading. Maxabeam is up the rungs of the ladder in the throw category. They are to me like Vinh’s lights. Too expensive.
I would get all strung out while resisting the urge to buy something!!

I think my wife would go for that too. It’s just that……I’m not willing to sell out all my bad habits just yet.

ARsee, had to laugh with your stink eye comment about your wife lol. My wife actually enjoys seeing the flashlights and playing with them, but she still gives me stink eye every time a bigger and more powerful one comes along. In the next week or two I have a little tsunami coming over as well so it's going to be good times at my house.

Ha, I had to seach Maxabeam as well as I never heard of it.

I’d shake your hand and call you sir no matter your age. Why, I’m guilty of most mentioned

That’s when I pull over with my thoughts and put it in neutral. Thinking where there’s will, there will be a way.
My wife has never referred to me as a hoarder. Yet

Nah, my wife encourages me. Under her breath with words I have to decipher because she never say what she really wants to say. She gave me the stink-eye one night after dinner, I mentioned I was going to clear out her upright display and move in my trinkets. I swear I saw a little steam come from her nose.
